Awesome Reaction bro, churrr. The Haka is a complex performance combining dance, song, and chanting. It was traditionally used on the battlefield as well as during peaceful ceremonies to display the tribe's pride, strength, and unity. The preservation of the Haka tradition is not only about maintaining a link to the past, but also about reinforcing cultural identity in the present and future.
Māori are the native people of New Zealand and it’s great to have the culture incorporated into their show with this song. A haka can be many things, there are many of them. Sometimes a pre battle war challenge, which is used pre rugby games these days, and the one they did with the warriors really going for it was an example of that - look up Kamate haka for the words. But can be used in celebration and many other occasions. Kia Ora e hoa (hello my friend) is a greeting you could use. You’ll hear them say whanau at the end of a few of the lines, that means family, but you can use it to include close friend groups like they are your people too. Their name Six60 is named after the flat number of where they lived in Dunedin when they formed the band, in a street famous for university student housing. They toured NZ recently and like someone else said this is footage from several shows. Looks like would have been amazing. The women (wahine) are swinging poi, and the men (tane) some of them have taiaha (spears), and sometimes they use mere/patu (clubs), both weapons used for battle.
thank u
Six60 and L.A.B are the biggest bands in Aotearoa (Land Of The Long White Cloud) New Zealand. Their discographies are full of Bangers. The music is smooth and very chill. Here's a few suggestions:
Six60
- Rest Of You
- Up There
- Closer
- Lost ft Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (On VIMEO 360p) etc
L.A.B (Live Studio Performances are always Best)
- In The Air
- My Brother
- Yes I Do
- Natural
- Proud Man
- Ain't No Use (Live at One Love 2021) etc
Yeah smooth 660 and yes I’m not forgetting my hometown Christchurch…💟💟💟

Symbolism is unity.
Kia Ora, the original music video of this is in all English if you wanna understand the song. If you like Six60 I suggest checking out 'someone to be around" for the feels or "Don't give up", "Special" or "white lines" for the vibes. Loving you taking time to get to know us, Arohanui 🌿
We over here tryna fight for our culture. Our country literally tryna ban it, they have a bill and everything. So I really appreciate reactors to our brothers and sisters. Because one day there is a possibility that this may never be anymore and that's really f*****g scary and brings a tear to my eyes.
Kia ora (be well). The Haka performed is the most famous Haka. A Haka is a challenge. It is an honor to be challenged because facing challenges is how we grow in body , spirit, and mind. As well it is important in life to acknowledge challenges and set challenges for yourself and love ones to enhance growth
Coterie is where it’s at bruddah. 🇳🇿
