I absolutely love your music. Every time i'm feeling even vaguely down i come onto RUclips and listen to a few songs and i'm instantly uplifted. The joy that you bring to your music is utterly contagious! Thank you.
That's the wonderful thing about the UoGB: they don't admit/care/whatever that the instrument is completely unsuitable for many pieces. Find their Dambusters March (if you can: I can't, please share if you do!); there are sections of that I'd expect were marked "maestoso", which the uke _can't_ do. But the UoGB did it - and carried it off, too.
I love it! I pictured Elmer Fud in his golden helmet with spear in hand singing kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit! They are very talented and I appreciate having them to listen to and they always bring a smile to my face. I'll be laughing about this for the rest of my life. May God bless them always. ✌ ❤ 🎸
I love the way you all contribute to the song with your individual strumming. I'm listening to this video in 2020. Thank for staying the course and sharing 💖💖💖
Rock,... classical,... folk, pick the genre,... they do it all with incredible perfection. Wish they'd tour the States..... I will be watching for em....
Robert Calvert, the greatest poet musician who ever graced this planet called earth, is smiling upon you. Now please cover Hawkwind's Urban Guerilla... you KNOW you want to!
Saw these guys in Norwich a little while back. One of the best live acts I've ever seen. IMO what music really is> Thank you UOGB!!! Keep on keeping on!
Wow! Absolutely amazing! Back when I used to play in a metal band, I wrote a lot of my songs on accoustic guitar. One day we were noodling around in the basement and our bass player banged off a really nice ukelele solo for one of our original tunes. Sure wish I'd had some tape rolling, as it was 6 years between that session and me actually learning how to solo myself.
This is from the year 2010. At some angles if you do not see his bun Dave, on our far left, looks like the 1963 Doctor Who (William Hartnell). Whilst Jonty, on our far right, looks like the 2010 Master (John Simm).
Wow, you catch the big wave of this big piece of music. OK - Ukulele - Hawaii - Polynesiaen life style -big wave - perfect play - no problem, simply Aloha !
Every vid posted on this channel is delightful. I find myself returning time after time. The musicianship is sublime but the main thing it brings me is simply Joy. Such a simple thing that we should always treasure. Thank you all.
Imagining surfers riding the wave with the "Ride of the Valkyries" being played on the ukelele in the background. And they would be saying "I love the sound of ukelele in the morning." and "Surfs up dudes!!" 🏄♂️ 🤙🏼 😁
@junkers290 thanks so much... yep that's it. I just love the look on Kitty's face!! I wonder how long they had to practise to get that down right. thanks again!!
@edwardianeccentric That's the beauty of music; it lives and you never know when an when someone will come to change the entire landscape of possibilities.
@AreaQNH870 Ayup. A buddy and I were lucky to attend one of their concerts last month. Needless to say the Ukes rocked!!! That buddy has been playing bass guitar for nearly 30 years and I trust his judgement, when he said it was defintely a ukulele bass. We took a closer look at the instrument during the break between the 2 sets. The soundbox was smaller and the scale length shorter than what you get with a normal acoustic bass.

Absolutely KILLER!!! 😉❤️🛸🚀👽♠️🕉🎛🎛
You're amazing
For those who seem to want to go negative always...it's called having fun with music...and they do, and most of us do with them.
Is there someone going negative on this?
Well said.
@@neuvocastezero1838 doubtful. Impossible to be negative with this, Wagner & Hawkwind is a truly classic mix.
The technicalities involved in playing such a challenging piece worthy of KUDOS.
I love the smell of ukulele in the morning!
You know your pop culture
🤣 You beat us to it!!!
:D
Saw what you did!😄
Something right about David singing about flying through space and time, while looking like a Doctor Who regeneration!
The amazing thing is that they play something that ukuleles are completely inappropriate for - and it WORKS!!
Like genius banjo player Bela Fleck tackling jazz/rock and classical. Who'da thunk that would work?

That’s very much the central conceit.

Amazing seeing how they play these pieces that are normally require a full orchestra!
I was in the audience for this, and have been to see them a few times since. What a great night
I saw them in oxford, absolutely brilliant
I was in the audience and saw Hawkwind playing Silver Machine in 1972. What a great night :)

With his spear and magic helmet?
I've not heard Silver Machine in a long time. This really made me smile!
Who did Silver Machine?

When that thing began to do so surround on my audio system, I went from awe to floored.
We saw the Ukes sing "Silver Machine" at Cropredy one year - it was simply brilliant !! 😎
This is the most wonderful thing I've been turned onto on youtube for a while. Thanks!!

The UOGB are still (rather worryingly) one of my favourite groups/bands/collectives/orchestras of all time. I love it :)
simply outstanding! Makes one proud to say "yeah... I play the uke"!

I've never thought of Ride of the Valkyries as being "sparkling," but this has changed my mind. Very nice.
Saw these guys in Norwich a little while back. One of the best live acts I've ever seen. IMO what music really is> Thank you UOGB!!! Keep on keeping on!
