- Today we installed handlebars, a tank lift, and an ignition and coil relocation on a 2019 Harley Davidson Iron 1200.

Yeah, let me tell you if I was to have to do it alone it would not have gone well. He had done it on 2 other Harleys so he was quite knowledgeable on how it was done! Awesome I will be sure to check your video out!

How did you get your original brake line to fit? I bought the same bars for my 2020 iron 1200 and it won’t reach.
Absolutely love how these bars look. I have them in my cart from the road6 website, but I'm stuck between the 12 inch and the 14.
I want to throw them on my 2022 Sportster 48. I'm also 5'6, not sure if the 14's would be too tall or just right.

No sir! All stock cables fit.. just had to cut back the tape around d the wire harness under the tank to get a few extra inches!

I’m diggin these bars... been eyeing them for a while cuz they’re selling the 16s with extended cables and wires for $350 rn. Do you know if they’re American made? I couldn’t find that info in my research.

Lucky bastard. Wish I had a buddy that knew what the hell they was doing with handle bar changes. Everyone I know are like me, don't want to blow a lot of money on cable the may or may not be wrong. Guess I'm just going to have to keep my eye out. See a fellow biker that got a handlebar change and say "Hey you do that yourself?" " You did!?" "Um you like free beer and Barbecue?" lol.

john matzik I don’t think that you will be able to internally wire 16 inch bars with the stock cabling. My hands are at just about shoulder height and are very comfortable

john matzik I am 5’10” which I think is like 177 cm. Also you can run 16” bars with the stock cables just can’t internally wire them

Where did you get the gold plugs you used for the handlebars? I love the way they make it pop. Do they come in different colors as well?
They were a selection that you could make on the Road 6 website when buying the bars

Nope, the stock throttle cables fit just fine

Your original bars were 8" and you didn't need any kind of wire extensions to go to 14"? I have been looking at those same exact bars from road6customs for my Iron883. Just hate to double the price by having to buy a cable kit.
Handlebars on the Iron 1200 are 10" mini apes. I did not have to get any wire or cable extensions. When doing the tank lift I just peeled back some of the black tape on the stock wiring harness and I was able to gain a few more inches.
Stalls i put 14” bars on my iron 883 and you can get away with only changing the clutch cable and brake line. I was able to make it work with stock throttle cables and wires. If you want to rout your wires through the bars then you will need extensions which i plan on doing at some point. Im not sure about the front turn signals because i have mine mounted on my triple tree.

What adhesive did you use to place the ape brass caps on
Gabriel it was suggested that silicone should be used.. so I used some clear silicone 👍🏻

They are quite comfortable, definitely at a good height and seating position
You didn’t have to buy new cables or wires? Is there enough slack?
There was enough slack, needed to cut some of the wrap around the wiring harness under the tank to get enough, but it all worked out great!

Didn’t put them on because I didn’t want them on the bars. I ordered a relocation kit so they went on the forks.

Greg Kirk where did you cut the wires to internally wire them. Got mine in and I can’t seem to gain the 6inches I need to connect them.
MuskieMan2010 I didn’t cut the wires, I just cut back some of the electrical tape and wire “housing” to gain a few more inches

@@jorgejauregui2050 I wasn’t much a fan of the mini apes. My buddy had a 48 with these bars and I liked the look, so I rolled with it.

Are you stupid? You have to remove all the same shit you would on any other bike. All the other stuff was other modifications.
