I bought one a few months back for shooting actual art - paintings and low-relief sculpture content. Even pixel-shift. Superb. When the weather's a bit better, I plan on some urban night shots, too. Very pleased with it.
That's a beautiful lens for sure,i own so many ART lenses and i love them but please don't say that the aperture ring on the lens is a fastest way to change aperture, that's not true. On Sony or any other camera the aperture can be set on the front or rear wheel which means you change it with the same hand that you hold the camera without looking , where the aperture rings on the lens requires 2 hands on the camera to operate. It's also something that may break in the future or easy to knock for a wedding photographer while walking. Good review, good lens for sure but the aperure ring...Meh...Sigma E mount lenses and Sony E mount lenses need to stop copy the Fuji lens design,is not practical...The only real benefit is for videographers which have the choice to De-Click the aperture
Bill Zidis Personally I LOVE aperture rings and I only shoot stills. Fuji has the right idea and I wish Sony would add them to more than just the GM line.
It’s so funny how everyone shoots so different in their ways with photography and video 😄 I personally just think the lens rings get in the way be it photo or video. But I do more events then anything and like the other guy says a flick of my finger and the dial on the camera takes care of it ! They are neat and all but for portraits I don’t change the aperture hardly ever to even use the ring and for events and weddings it is to slow looking and trying to make sure I’m not hitting the lens ring and setting it properly!! I use my left hand for focus and zoom or holding the camera when in video ... so the ring doesn’t really work for me But no hate here again everyone is very different and that’s why there are different choices ! 😁 I used the 24mm GM recently and just hated that you had to have the lens in a certain aperture setting to adjust via the camera so if your using the lens ring your stuck with what is on there !! Some love some hate em 😂
Thanks for the extensive footage of the lens on the A7 body, I wanted to get an idea of the appearance of the lens attached to the body as some people have said that it is sooo large. Seems pretty acceptable to me though.
Question about the lens, does it make a noise when using continuous focus on a stationary object via photo or video? Something like micro focusing sounds?
Hold on... Are you not getting the flickering issue when shooting 120p wide open at f/1.2? So far everyone else I've seen is getting flickering, even outside, in every Sony body.
Mind if I ask how long it took you doing photography/videography/RUclips to be able to upgrade to a lens like that and eat at the same time? Asking for a friend..........
Hey bro many RUclips reviewers are either renting, borrowing from a friend or given a lens on loan by a manufacturer in exchange for the free publicity.
Quick question: The Sony a6600 does eye tracking in video mode. However, when I connect the camera to a monitor, the little square disappears. I want to know if the camera is still tracking my eye even if I don’t see the little square.
I have Nikon 105 2.5 Ais myself and a mint quality one is harder to find at that price. I have used Sigma 105mm F1.4 , Sigma had better bokeh at F1.4. But when shooting at F2.5 Nikon stacks up well against the modern lens like Sigma. The weight difference is huge. But what stand out for the Nikon is great render, excellent colour reproduction and it is extremely sharp shooting at F2.5, there is a tiny bit of purple fringing.
Hm... in the sample shots in this video the bokeh looked pretty busy and sometimes even ugly, not really buttery smooth. I think I stick to my Sigma 35mm 1.4. Not worth the upgrade. ;)
I like how you described it lol, as the difference between using a kit lens and then you find out how freaking dope and luscious the prime lenses are. 👍🏾Another great vid from you!
First of all, your videos are amazing !! I really enjoy watching your videos it's always fun for me and my friends. Today I made a makro picture with just turning a normal lens around and it worked perfectly fine. It would be a perfect video topic ^-^ you doing a great job !
I’ve always wanted to do a channel, but I am quite content watching you & some others, you do a great job! Thumbs down for the silly aperture ring comment. Have your ever used a Sony before????? You control this with the dial.. No need to look at the buttons. All the aperture ring does is any keep moving when I don't need to which is annoying as hell
@@SidneyDiongzon It's nothing wrong with it I just feel like its marketed to define artist you all just sound the same "bokehlious" "creamy buttery smooth backgrounds" even Smart phones are on it. It’s not large at all
It seems great. Just not for sure if I'm down for the constant barrel distortion.
Looks like a pretty sweet lens. I bought a Sigma 56 1.4 a little while back for my Sony A6500. It’s a nice lens as well.
That’s a great lens too!

Do you find the focus ring being bad when pulling focus manually? Some say it is really bad and unprecise?

It´s so satisfying to watch the close ups of the lens, i think its the best looking lens in the market right now :))
Try the Nikon 105 2.5 it is a pretty legendary lens you can find for 60 bucks on eBay . Produce one of the best bokeh ever made

Can you review the voigtlander Ultron 21mm f/1.8 VM using an adaptor for mirrorless?

Hello please
Can i use it for vlog ?
What do you reckon is the better out of the 35mm sigma 1.2, 1.4 or the sony 1.8?
The 1.2 is the best 35mm on the market. The only close one is the new Tamron 1.4. the Sigma is on a wholr new level above the Sony
