Bob sounds like he's doing much better after his short break. I can't imagine dealing with that condition but I love to see that he's pushing through and continuing to be one of the most famous physical therapists on the internet (btw that theme song gets stuck in my head all the time lol)
I’m so glad I watch you guys. I just developed Trigger finger a few weeks ago. The doc I went to wants to give me a steroid injection. I’m going to follow your advise firstly.
I have had TF in my right hand on my middle finger for a couple years now and have just lived with it and the pain just went away but still locks up all the time. Now this past month my ring finger next to it has started and it hurts beyond pain. Anyway, I have been doing all these exercises already just by self thought/taught but it wasn't until your other video that showed you using rubber bands and extending the fingers with it that gave immediate relief for me. I doubled up the rubber bands to make it a little stronger for more exercise and man does it feel so much better just after 1 set of 20 opening (expanding) and releasing... maybe this will help some one else too and it even has helped my middle finger too. Thanks
Thank you Bob and Brad, these exercises are so helpful as always. I am recovering from a fractured spine and I find that all your exercises are extremely helpful in some way or another. I thank you so much. Love and kind regards to you both and also the compliments of the season 🎄🎄
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have had 2 surgeries due to trigger fingers and now I’m suffering a 3rd trigger finger. I will take your advice and do the recommended exercises.
Please do a video on how to deal with this when it happens to thumbs. I have it in both thumbs and my ring finger. It is trying to affect other fingers as well.
I have had trigger finger flare ups frequently over the last 18 months or so. Last time it lasted for over 2 months, exercises didn’t help. Eventually got the injection. Even that took a week or two to get full relief. Doctor seems keen on cutting the sheath surrounding the tendon as a permanent fix. However, I figure there is a biological/functional reason why the tendon has that covering. I don’t want to make things worse.
We are very sorry to hear you are going through this. You mentioned that the exercises didn't work, could you try them again religiously for a few weeks? Here is a link to our channel with all our trigger finger videos on it. If something doesn't help, move on to the next exercise. We like to try everything before deciding to have surgery. ruclips.net/user/BobBradsearch?query=trigger%20finger
What’s the difference between Trigger Finger and Dupuytren’s contracture? How can you ascertain which condition you have? Can they both be treated with PT and without surgery? Thank you for your response
We haven't done a video comparing the two yet, so I have added that to our to do list. Here's a couple videos that may help explain in more detail until we get the comparison video made ruclips.net/video/dBHI98VLIoM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/LDUs_BgOY9U/видео.html
Both of my middle fingers were operated on to relieve trigger finger. Two small scars on the palms about a half inch from the base of those fingers remain as a reminder of my past indiscretions. Yes Bob... I caught your joke!
Is it also called Trigger Finger if the finger gets stuck in the straight position? My husband’s middle finger sometimes gets stuck in a straight position and he needs to use his other hand to bend it.
Not everyone has access to this successful solution. The jet nozzles in a gym Jacuzzi. 4-5 visits for 5-10 minutes, trigger finger tendon an inch from the nozzle. No more trigger finger. Occasional stiffness. Occasional re-visits, as needed.
My son is a body builder and he lifts quite a bit of weight. His knuckle is swollen and finger is tight. There is no redness or heat in the finger. I pulled your exercises for him to do but would it hurt to KT tape it while at work? And, do you have a video available for that?
🤷♀️ No pain ?! Ha !!! I WISH !!! I have trigger finger in both ring fingers, my left middle finger, and my right pinky. It's definitely exacerbated with all the gripping I do baking each day. Even when I skip a couple days, it's still present. And let me tell you, it HURTS !! Especially when the two ring fingers constantly get STUCK. They stick so badly and tightly that I have to yank with my other hand (or have someone else) SNAP IT ! 😦 It feels like it's ripping my tissue every time. Even those straightening out my fingers cringe as they feel the resistance and hear the pop. HELP !!! 😩
@@BobandBrad 😊 I did see the white board you guys held up towards the beginning of the video; I'll need to watch that one. Thank Y💙U for your response.
@@BobandBrad I just watched it ! 😊 I'm SO GLAD you're trigger finger has greatly improved, Brad. (I noticed the video was from a few years ago) I will work through the pain of pressing the very tender spots in attempt to break down the tissue. Flexing my fingers backwards is a struggle as well, but I do try. About a year ago, I began taking the apple cider vinegar after watching a different video of yours. I kept it up daily for a few months; for some reason, it seemed to cause more aggravation. I was a bit down after having had expectations ... 😞 I now begin the day with a mix of lemon juice, a teaspoon of olive oil, and a half teaspoon of honey. I'm not sure if it's beneficial, but it seems to make my digestive system content. 🙂 Thank you for ALL your helpful suggestions and encouragement. 💜

I underwent that small operation about five years ago. Both middle fingers. Immediate relief and no problems since.
