Im of tongan lineage born and raised in los angeles. Tongan islands are right next door and im going up there to visit fam. I must say im jealous. For a man to be on a boat in the middle of endless ocean for days and weeks and months, with no signt of land, and to navigate through that, such is a mans voyage through life. We all have our own journeys, blessed that you are sharing yours with us.
James.. thanks for letting us live vicariously through your videos. There's 6 inches of snow outside my window right now and seeing even a little sunshine through my computer monitor helps.
The beginning music and monologue always gives me this massive sense of nostalgia. For what, I don’t know. This channel is one of my favorites on RUclips 😊
While I am on Spring Break (I work at a middle school), watching your video is so relaxing! I appreciate the 55 minutes of taking my mind away from things! Thank you!
Yay so happy you made it safe!! Sure am glad your engine decided to turn on, I was worried with you! Suva’s historical sites & museums are pretty cool. Loved spending time in Tavarua. Looking forward to your next video & mahalo for taking us along with you 🤙🏼🌊⛵️
There’s nothing I enjoy more on RUclips than riding along with you around the world. Thank you! Im currently living in a van but As soon as I get a job, I’ll support the channel
As a midwesterner that’s never sailed and at my age I most like never will. I am so envious of your lifestyle. I can’t imagine doing what you do. Mind you I’m not complaining because I have a great life yours is just different. Keep sharing your life I absolutely love watching your adventures. Stay safe my friend and enjoy what you do.
Dollar for dollar and knot for knot, I think Triteia is the most solid cruiser value in the South Pacific right now. It helps to have a no-nonsense Captain as well, of course.
The other solo-sailor channel I watch is Adventures of an Old Sea Dog. I'm very surprised at how different your sailing experience is from his. You're cool and calm, at least on the outside. Even when your rudder broke, you're like "ok, well we need to deal with this...". The Sea Dog is constantly having problems with sailing his boat. Constantly not being able to make progress in the direction he's trying to go. Constantly stressed about his motor, etc. I love watching his journey too, he seems like a decent guy, but the contrast between you two is quite amazing to me.
I watched a couple of his videos too. My quick take - James is on his life's mission which he worked towards for years, so he is well prepared. The Old Sea Dog seems to have done plenty of ocean sailing and doesn't have such a sense of purpose now, maybe he doesn't put such effort into preparation.
@@vindolanda6974old sea dog is a super nice guy I’ve met him twice. He is just a different age and different point in life he is starting his completion of the entire globe right now
James, I’m an avid watcher now, for over the last 2 years. Have enjoyed the journey, along with your simplistic narration. It’s like watching one of the great movies where he says “life’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get.” We are all on a Journey, and many of us like the water, and your videos, and editing, tells an awesome story of adventure. Just wanted to say Thanks for the ride.

Great discovery on, RUclips. Been traveling all over the world, since leaving cuba, back in 71-I was sixbat such time. Been wanting to sail in the south Pacific, since spending time in Bora Bora, 30 years ago, and youve planted a seed in my mind to accomplish, such. Thank you. Safe travels mate.
Hi Captain, when you made the raw fish with the coconut sauce, it made me hungry. Very hungry. But in my box, there were only sardines!!!!!....thank you for sharing, nice video.
James, this is by far the best channel I have come across. I can't speak for anyone else, but you make me feel like I would stand a chance exploring the world on a small boat. Thank you!
Great choice of music on this episode. Beginning reminds me of Tom Hanks Cast Away film. Amazing how much power is in a sail that Gybes unintended, considering all that power has to be transmitted through the cloth via all those little stitches and eventually shatter your winch base along with its metal bolts.
Not much out there more relaxing than a `Sailing Triteia` video and another successful passage... Well done James and keep it up! Your life inspires me!!.. (from a subscriber in South Africa)
Thanks James you’re one of the best inspiration to get out there and sail . I’m retired buying a boat in March , I live in the bay / delta area of Northern California, I don’t have any sailing experience, hopefully I can start slow and learn around the bay here . Stay safe my friend .

These videos just keep getting better, far better than anything that British TV has to offer at present. You possibly may have a small air leak somewhere on your diesel system if filters were good, but a crack of the injectors one at a time whist turning her over should be temporary fix.
