Nice tips and advice. I will try this with my latest build in epoxy. Wondering if you can explain the difference between a gloss finished board and a sanded finish board. I've seen listings for both and also niticed how some boards have a matte sanded finish and aren't very glossy...but wondering what the difference in sanding is....
Awesome hope it all goes well! There's couple of options, for us we always resin finish our boards so the difference between a Polish and a matte finish is basically just less sanding. We'll stop sanding at about 400 grit. I know other people will spray finish boards, so they'll take the first sand up to 400 and spray a lacquer over it, instead of doing a resin finish. It saves time, but you can't polish it. Hope this helps
A few tips: - Never lean into the sander no matter what grit. Just let it do it's work with some light pressure. If you lean into it will warm up. - Good random orbit sanders for dry sanding have a hookup where you can plug them into a shop vac. This keeps the pad clean and traps the dust. - Wet sanding is awesome. I wouldn't bother with dry past 120.
Thank you for sharing! I love the glossy look on mini simmons, fish, and logs!👍👍
No problem! Absolutely! A Polish can transform a board!
@@Stephenstone44 it's good you are learning a lot in your experiences.👍👍
