Switched to manual a few months ago. Immediately felt more in control of the car but it took a long time to get as fast as I was in auto. Definitely much faster now though. Thanks for the video
I’m in that boat now. First sim racing game… G92 setup and was getting reasonable in auto. Switched to manual two days ago, can’t even drive it in auto now lol but nowhere near as fast yet. Just going to take some time and plenty of practice.
First thing I noticed was how.much better cornering was. Like, manual allowed me to correct for bad turn entries. Automatic doesn't seem to allow for that.
I’ve played Gran Turismo since PS2. Always in automatic. Just recently I started playing with manual transmission. Its a completely different game. What helps me out alot is playing with noise cancelling headphones.
I'm gonna start my MT journey tomorrow. I defo feel like i leave at least a couple of seconds and hopefully will get them and upgrade my DR from C level 🤞
A third pedal wheel setup gave me an incredible advantage on a standing start using the manual clutch on the Porsche 959. It was a difference of 8 positions before the first turn at Road Atlanta. I ran the start 10 times just to be sure.
@@DigitRacingDG you are the legend, learning from you to keep calm in online races and get faster👼 The rig should arrive at monday, i hope it fits well 😀
I don’t have the H pattern shifter but the paddle shifter in my G923. Changing to manual will allow me to control the car speed through the paddle shifters ..?? Great videos, keep it up the good job 👍🏻 Thanks
Great video. Would love to see how you determine the optimum upshift point for each car. I noted you used the Corvette as the 75% upshift example - how did you arrive at that figure?
All that is great but is it possible to do it with a controller? I've been driving manual my whole life (ok, since I'm 14) but when using a controller it's literally impossible, I'm entangled with so many buttons.
Your comment is a year old, so you probably solved it, but since I ran into the issue myself (drove me crazy as it kept killing a Gold medal circuit experience run) I'll post for you and any others. I'll wager you have the Logitech shifter. If it's connected, even if you're not using it for the race, whichever gear it is set to, the car will automatically shift to that gear as soon as you come out of auto drive. Either disconnect it, or just make sure it's in neutral and you won't have the issue.

How do you change gears on PS5? Sorry to bother you.

Glad it helped!

Hi Digit!
Ordered a GT Omega Rig last week using your Ref Code to support your channel, thx for the nice videos ✌️
Legend, thank you for that and I hope you'll enjoy it :)

Excellent video. Definitely will help me improve my driving 🚗
Great to hear!
I don't think you need to shift at max power gor max acceleration. Going beyond max power might be better. Depends on the power graph.
Hi, yes, it does. To find the right optimal shifting point, I made this spreadsheet: dg-edge.com/osp-calculator/

In my experience yes, it forces you to become closer to e very movement of your car
Thx Digit, so helpful!
How do you shift gears in the game first time playing it?
Hey thank you so much. I have learned a lot for your videos. Again thank you hope to see more of your driving. Have a great one b
That is a nice looking thumbnail.
Thanks :)
Thought you wouldve mentioned down shifting aggressively to slow the car down faster .
Depends on the car, but usually it won't make much difference

Thanks, have a look at this video: ruclips.net/video/gMqWijk-NNE/видео.html&ab_channel=DigitGaming
@@DigitRacingDG Thank you - that video answered my question perfectly.
What is the optimum rev to shift with the corvette gr3? All gears the same?
How do I change controller options to manual gear box
Oh I just figured it out nvm lmao
Nice video! Thx! What are your sensitive settings on fanatek csl dd?
6 ffb, and 10 sen
thank you
Shifting na volanu i controlleru neuporedivo
Hi i got the same base and the same settings that you but my wheel he got so many bivrations in the curvs 🤷♂️
Was here✌️
shifting gears is good but its a the correct time even split seconds

Use x and □ me quite easy
Okay but what button do i press to switch gears
square is down gear and X is up
Manual is the only way to go in racing games.
Why when I change to manual after count down 3... 2... 1... My gearbox is on max gear ? Wtf is that
Not sure how
