I broke my femur last year and was pretty helpless for awhile (way too much time on my hands). I certainly could not get a plate of food from the kitchen to my recliner out in the living room where I spent my days. Placing a plate of hot food on Deebot and driving him into the living room via his remote control worked like a charm! Naturally, when stuck in bed, placing a camera on it so I could navigate the robot into the bedroom with my coffee, tablet or laptop was a natural evolution. As was playing with the cat by taping string and a toy mouse to the back. Deebot opened my eyes to how useful and entertaining a machine could be when others weren't around to assist. ---- To kick off the contest, might I suggest, "Otto" for your Tesla Optimus assistant. It rhymes with Auto, which is main focus of your media empire :), Auto for Automatic, and Auto for Autonomous. So my vote is for Otto!

    If they're going to remove the credit then remove the oil and gas subsidies. But that will never happen because those industries control Washington. The tax credit is definitely a way to help others get into an EV. It says you can deduct up to $7,500 of YOUR tax liability from the price of your EV. So people are always complaining about being taxed by the government but here they are saying...we give back to you up to $7,500 towards the purchase of an EV. Maybe I'm missing a whole lot but I'd think that would sit well with the left and the right. I'm an Independent and I have friends on the left and the right who drive EV's and have qualified for the credit so I'm not sure why there's such division among politicians. It can't be all that bad because JD Vance says...he would repeal it for EV's and apply it to gas cars...so anyone wanting to buy a gas car could qualify. So it's not a money/budget issue if he's trying to prop up the oil and gas industry.
    But think of it this way, and it's pretty much what Vance is talking about doing, if you're not able to benefit from it on delivery day of your EV then all the government is going to do...and Trump and Vance are saying out loud what they're going to do, is resend the law and then shift your tax dollars onto something they like instead. And I'm sorry, but given the republican's last tax plan under trump it funneled a lot of cuts and tax dollars to the wealthy and the rich.
    As a Tesla owner and investor I really want him to stay out of it because it does reflect on Tesla the company. But ultimately he's free to exercise his speech the way he wants and if he personally wants to support Trump that's his business.

      @cre8tvedge Месяц назад

      No. In 2016 Musk said that Tesla would be able to self drive in 2018 or 2019. We are waiting. FSD is improving. In Oct we will learn more about true autonomous vehicle. I'll hold my powder till then. There is a thing in Tesla's favor. Some geofenced autonomous vehicles are on the roads. So it can be done. Tesla's ambition though is to toss the geofence (FSD does work anywhere) and roll it out to the whole nation. Absolute that if it works much money will be forthcoming to Tesla. Oh In Oct we will see a newly designed vehicle called the Robotaxi as of now.

    but i would point out inside the city's the air pollution isnt great for humans lungs in the long term, so i would say, at lest for that, it would be great if less ice and more electric cars are present in the city's.

      Car culture and sprawl has us in a checkmate. People are scraping by as it is and they're forced to pay for car ownership because it's impossible to walk, bike or take mass transit to make a living. Self driving cars will only make this worse.

    • @totallypluggedin
      @totallypluggedin Месяц назад

      @@richardlinares6314 I agree about your checkmate comment, however I disagree about self driving cars making the problem worse. They will significantly drive down the cost of ride share, make it more convenient, safer, and more customized to what we want. If we’re fortunate enough to be able to invest in a Robo taxi ourselves that will create a new source of revenue for people. The losers in an autonomous world will be professional drivers and those that can no longer afford the luxury of private vehicle ownership. I suspect the transportation landscape will become a lot more diverse in the future and ultimately the best, most convenient and most affordable options will prevail. The winners will be those at the bottom of the economic ladder, those that for various reasons are unable to drive such as the elderly, the blind, the drunk etc! But the biggest winner of all will be the environment, currently our vehicles are grossly under utilized and spend 90% of their time in a parking space. That is an obscene waste of money and natural resources.
