This piece is shocking in terms of how something with such an extreme anatomical issue got past all the different people who would have been reviewing this piece before it got published. Very surprising. Excellent critique and fix! This new series of reviewing league splashes is really interesting.
actually not surprising at all, considering the pose is super "animated" and usually in animation you stretch and squash characters to enhance the feel of movement.
@I-VisiBomb-I that's true. I think some extreme dynamic stuff is what they were going for, but the anatomy is still mostly representational, and so therefore what we see looks pretty broken
Love the changes that you made to the Caitlyn art! It's very educative to be honest. Shoulder-waist adjustment fixed a lot! Especially how the area between face and breasts actually more annoying than how the back of her connected. There is one thing I would like to ask, isn't holding a rifle like that a bit risky because of a recoil? With the adjustment the back of it, some call it gunstock or simply shoulder stock, it stands just infront of her mouth. I think that the original one placed fit with standing on shoulder but the scope looks weird as you pointed out. So maybe adjusting the whole rifle's perspective or rotating her head will make it much better in the terms of rifle usage. Thanks for the video! Bests.
I know a lot of the times the artists are forced to break anatomy like this by Riot, I've seen them post first iterations vs the finals after the edits and a loooot of times for the female characters they get hit with the objectification beam and look janky or generic a lot of the time
not to mention the ''LOL women'' beam they put as well, a lot of thumbnails have more personality, the woman have different faces, but in the rendering at some point they change and all the women end up with the same face, it feels like it is all the same super model just cosplaying the characters.
Every time I watch one of your videos something shifts in my mind. Best teacher ever

The moment the grey spot comes in, you can see she's basically two different body pieces facing very different directions 👀

Thank you so much for addressing the neck as well, it's bugged me sense the skin came out 😶
This was super helpful! Thank you so much!
Your critique is so refreshing I always find myself learning new things ✨ 1:01:08 yeah, I need to try out new drinks 😶🌫️
Do you have more info / videos or papers on the evolution geneticist and features thing you mentioned? It sounded scarily interesting
Finally Cait got her spine surgery, the default splash art also suffers from this and broken hip
