I come from a different "Hayabusa" angle. Even at an older age, I am at best an amateur motorcyclist. I don't do twisties - or go too slow through them- and I rarely go over 85MPH. But I bought one to join the club, the prestige factor and all. My friends would say, "You're going to kill yourself on that thing!" My first motorcycle was a VF1000F (it was around 10 years old at the time). Not quite a Hayabusa, but a sub 11 second bike and fully considered a "liter bike" at the time. Other than going through MSF I had no prior experience on dirt bikes or any motorcycle. I've ridden several years now and never had an accident. And I ride pretty aggressively too, I definitely know and love WOT. My current bike is a ZX-14R, which is even a bit crazier than a Hayabusa (stock levels...anyway). So yes, IMO it IS POSSIBLE for people to start on big bikes but ONLY if you are not a crazy a****** or too timid that you'll scare and ask for a do-over. For those of us that have the "right stuff", it is possible to start on something other than a 250.
He mentioned sg like "it was my first bike, not counting dirt bikes". That's probably part of the reason he is alive. Most people wheelie the first time they try to slip the clutch on a dirt bike. Cool interview, really enjoyed it
16 is a interesting start I started my first bike at 23 on my gen 2 hayabusa still my only bike never jacked it up going to get a grom as my 2nd soon don’t do as I do start small
That isn't much crazier than the bike I started on/the bike I'm on now. I ended up getting my dad's old bike that he was just going to scrap, it's a 2016 Kawasaki Concours 1400 at about 160hp and 100 ftlb of torque. You just need to know that it's a rocket between your legs that will kill you if you do stupid shit with it.
It's all in your head and your right hand. An old 1982 Suzuki GS1100G was handed to me AND that's how I learnt the basics and I'm still alive to tell the story. Not the best way I reckon but still doable if you use the head above your shoulders and not the one between your legs.
how was it like to learn on a Hayabusa? I read many people say it is a bad decision and your mistakes are gonna be much costly. If I treated the busa with respect and spent the learning curve with patience, will it be a good choice of a first bike?
@@SolomFoz If you lack self control and or jump into things without learning about how they actually work then no... But be safe and learn what you got to do and you will be just fine.

But then again, if you are in your 20:ies getting a 600 or a 1000 isn’t that much of a difference….
Age is the major component here…
My first motorcycle was a VF1000F (it was around 10 years old at the time).
@Fart Zilla well it was actually 998cc, which isn't quite a liter.
Not a big deal, my first bike was a gsxr1000. A 300cc bike can be far more dangerous than a super bike if you can't control your right hand properly.
This format really is good 👍
Surely you'll collab with this cat again?!?!?!?
Show out to cedar park local!
Idk why but I love spite shirt lol always digging for the second 5th gear 😄
He mentioned sg like "it was my first bike, not counting dirt bikes". That's probably part of the reason he is alive. Most people wheelie the first time they try to slip the clutch on a dirt bike. Cool interview, really enjoyed it
16 is a interesting start I started my first bike at 23 on my gen 2 hayabusa still my only bike never jacked it up going to get a grom as my 2nd soon don’t do as I do start small
Getting my first bike this week end it’s a 1972 Yamaha xs650 and I’m so excited to get to ridding
I wish you would have asked him what he thinks of Suzuki pulling out of motogp, and the future of the busa.
One of my favorite videos! Love the Hayubusa!! Hello! from Andrew Walther, Grimes, Iowa, 🇺🇸 United States
Well it has the hp, my first bike is a Ducati Hypermotard 1100s, it has more nm per kg
ooof thats the stuff
Much less aerodynamic than a busa though
It isnt a lie at all
Dont fart big friend
What a cool and grounded guy, with a screw loose (In the good way)
I always love your music selection Yammie!!!!!
I started in 2018 on a 1983 Honda CBX. Now i'm used to motorcycles that can't really take corners well or brake on time.
Mans came with the Mexico 1320 shirt. You already know how he rolls
He sounds so down to earth... at high speed...
This guy inspired me to get my first bike, which is a 3rd gen hayabusa!
How’s it going?
@@Jump-n-smash I have been having a blast! Definitely excited for the warm weather. :)
@@AtomicTankGaming 🤙
how was it like to learn on a Hayabusa? I read many people say it is a bad decision and your mistakes are gonna be much costly. If I treated the busa with respect and spent the learning curve with patience, will it be a good choice of a first bike?
@@SolomFoz If you lack self control and or jump into things without learning about how they actually work then no... But be safe and learn what you got to do and you will be just fine.
Great episode!
