I am amaze that you are so young yet so devoted to Elvis
Unfortunately. What is really sad and unfortunate is that Elvis never performed abroad. He would have conquered every stage in the world and would have gained more exposure. It's such a shame! If the colonel was normal this would happen. His ego and fear prevented Elvis from reaching every corner of the world.

Elvis helped bring Black and white people together.
Elvis' music helped unite people.. He was not a Devil, in fact just the opposite... those who tried to stop him were the real Devils....
Hi Mary Patricia....My parents hated Elvis. I was not allowed to buy his records....but I bought them and hid them in my room. I would get up in the middle of the night...sit next to the record player with the volume low and
fortunately I was never caught. My parents were very prejudice against
black people and when I invited them over they had to come in the back door and could only stay a few minutes. It made me very sad and upset but because of how I saw them treat my black friends they ( unknowingly) taught me how not to treat other human beings.
I am thankful for that lesson.

You are a very brave , beautiful and wonderful lady, who yourself have overcome many injustices and no noubt had to jump through many hurdles in life to be the person you have become, as did Elvis.
For both yourself and Elvis i cannot imagine the challenges you both overcame, through quite frankly narrow minded people, who sadly would not depart from their own twisted perception of how they valued people who were born with colored skin.
If not for Elvis and his tenacity to not back down to the conservative elite, music as we know and love it today would be very have happened, his innovative approach , shook the world both culturally and societially, and open doors to those , who sadly would not have even been allowed to walk through them.😢
As for corrupting the youth of the day, utter nonsense, and Elvis himself was immensely distressed by people thinking such thoughts of him.
The many injustices Elvis endured throughout his life and career to me say far more about the accusers than the accused.

Thank-you for your video comments on Elvis it's very true and interesting. I have been an Elvis fan since 1973 when l was12,years of age now just turned 62 in May. The first song l heard was Hound dog and the first movie l saw was Jailhouse Rock. I like very much his rockin roll music the ballads the gospel music the Christmas songs music and Hawaiian and mexican music the country and blues a real variety of songs and music and the inspirational songs music. A very great singer musician and entertainer.
He hit the scene with a bang! Well, in our Christian Country South Africa, his gospel music was welcomed as to his early rock songs by the youth. No protests here, and the young guys wanted to look like him! We played his gospel songs in our home. Still love his music. He is a legend. Amazing voice and such a personality who changed the music world! 🥇👍🌍🇿🇦🆒️💯

Plain and simple the way Elvis became popular it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing my dad was a huge Elvis fan when he first became popular he always told me there was nothing like it he has ever seen teenage girls with literally faint at his concerts and scream like crazy my dad saw his last concert in Indianapolis Indiana and he said it was the same thing, the man just had an effect on people that know entertainer has ever had
Looking Elvis nowadays we ask what he did wrong. It is incredible to see how perceptions of certain behaviors have changed over time. What was scandalous at the time is now ridiculous. Certainly Elvis broke many molds at the time.

Love that Aug 6th 1956 interview. He was obviously the 1st Rebel Rocker but didn't have an attitude with the media like some same age celebrities did during that time.

I am 62 and can only say I am absolutely in awe of Elvis! I truly love him and his music. ALL my kids know Elvis, and ALL my grandkids know of him! Down to the youngest at 4! I'm excited to run across this video. Thank you 😊

Elvis, Johnny and Dorsey Burnette, Lee Denson, Paul Burlison. All teen musicians in Memphis in 1948-9 when WDIA launched the first ever radio station in the USA for black listeners. That station also turned white Memphis teens onto black rhythm and blues during a period of oppressive racial segregation.
By the time he was seventeen, Burlison was played guitar for Howling Wolf. Elvis and the others' repertoire started to develop with the music of the black rockers they heard first on WDIA and then subsequently WHBQ with Dewey Phillips. @MaryPatricia great video documentaries you make and your presentation and commentaries are show great insights and observations 😊

great new hair Mary, it suits you. Elvis had many influences, if one takes the time to read about him some surprising ones will surface. From blues, to country, to gospel, to crooners like Mario Lanza and Dean Martin ( once his biographer mentioned Dean i could really hear that).
Great video Mary. ' How much is that Doggy in the window? 😂. Elvis certainly caused a storm when he came on the scene. It's no wonder he got drafted. Two years later Elvis came out of the Army a tamed man. Even Frank Sinatra agreed to have him on his show. Elvis was no longer "Elvis the Pelvis" He got more respect from people who previously hated him.
To anyone who is still alive from those times and was SO against what Elvis was doing, I have one question for them...How do like what's happening these days with a lot of performers? Elvis shook his legs and hips ...Now, a lot of them are 'twirking ' and shaking their ass all over the place , and sometimes they're practically doing the sex act right there on the stage..And don't get me started about how they dress when performing, or I should say how they UNDRESS! Hookers wear more than they do . Compared to what they're doing now, Elvis was just an angel with a twitch.
