- In this video I'll explain how to paint a two-car garage using a two-tone paint scheme and an accent stripe down the center.
Painting the garage is important to me because it makes it feel like it's part of the house rather than 'the garage'. As a car guy, I want to work on my cars in a nice space and this is helping me accomplish exactly that.
Let me take you on a DIY step by step video to explain the best way to run your tape, get a crisp line along the edge of the wall, and also how to do all of this leading to a professional finish.
I went to Lowes to buy everything that you need, so any of you can do this too! Let me know what you think and how you would paint your garage differently! Would you do yours just like mine?

Nice. I'm doing it this Sat. Going to Home depot to pick up everything today. Im telling you now.. im blaming you if it comes out wack lol because you made it look so easy lol. I did a lot of painting inside my crib with the help of my best friend who is a professional painter. Now im taking sills he taught me along with this video and attempting this, this Sat. ALONE! I'm using the exact same colors as you. I'm hoping it wont take me more than a day. i didnt catch how long it took you.

I noticed u used caulking for the accent stripe for your textured wall, if u don’t have a textured wall, do u still need it?
Probably not :)
All that taping around doors,... and caulking? Why?
It is easier and produces better results if you learn how to use a paint brush properly and no tape.
Hint you only put paint on one side of the brush and let the paint be drawn throught the bristles and onto the wall.
The green tape and caulking method left a poor edge at the ceiling.
Painting takes a long time with no skills.
With latex paints always have a wet clean rag with you to wipe of any paint that gets on the wrong surface as it happens.
Try using a dripless caulking gun next time. You may like it!

Hi, sorry this was a while ago I don’t have the codes but at the beginning of the video I share the color names. You might be able to see some codes there
It is really hard to read it from the video
I think the best course of action is to get a “cool tone” set of greys for a blue accent stripe. But let’s say you want a yellow stripe you should get a brown-tone grey. Each grey comes with undertones of other colors so decide on your accent stripe color and buy a grey paint set that matches that
The whole video is about the paint and when completed you show 5 seconds of the garage with cars and you in the video. A little too egotistic if you ask me, only at 10:37 I can view the finish product.
