- I've decided to do yet again another Genshin Impact FPS test, but this time a little bit different. Since its pretty obvious which phone would win as it pertains to raw gaming performance, I decided to test the strengths of each device to help those decide which phone is better for their gaming needs; as both devices have strengths and weaknesses.

Doesn't the iPhone drop in FPS after a few hours of high-end gaming? That's the case at least for me. I played Genshin for like 3-4 hours and it went down in FPS while my ROG 8, Redmagic 9 Pro Plus and even my S23 Ultra are still consistent.
This is impressive from the iPhone. Even without cooling system it has the same temperature as the gaming phone

I love your side by side tests! Noone does it this but you
If you didn’t know on the redmagic 9 pro ones, it’s Chinese version of it has a feature called “Superior Pic Quality” plug-in which up scales from 720P to staggering estimated 1600P it’s a good feature ngl 😍
Thats not how Upscaling works
@@PistazienBaum07 if it works, it works

I heard that Genshin 5.0 will provide graphic updates on mobile devices with high specifications, hopefully Android will get better resolution quality and better graphics too, without to use a plug in or no root
Thats we need to confront red magic at 1600p and iphone at 1296
Nice to see your latest videos brother ❤
It's really impressive iPhone can maintain 60fps while using metalFX and highest resolution.
It's actually the normal resolution upscaled using metal fx
@@R313Yyes but it always use more gpu/cpu
@@R313Yno it's not, that's how DLSS or XeSS, FSR works.
metalFX implemented on Genshin does not automatically lower the resolution
@@bluetran1he didn't say anything about lowering resolution. He said that it upscales the game from the same res the game runs at without metalfx, kinda the same way fsr2 works in this game on pc(it also doesn't lower the resolution, just upscales it)

How do you get that pop up in the iPhone 15 pro max?
Can u try with hyperbloom team?? I test with redmagic 8 pro, hyperbloom reaction cause a bit framedrop
please tell me whether the iPhone 15 pro max will consistently show 60 FPS for half a game of genshin and honkai?
Very impressive results for the iPhone, as it runs with the highest resolution ever in a smartphone.
Never thought my iPhone can run this smoothly with such a low temperature. ( at least lower than I thought)
Nice video ❤ thank you for testing this , I’ve been curious for a long time since apple added metalfx for iPhone
this is all 16 minutes test, if you play on the iPhone for more than half an hour, then it will heat up to 47-48 ° and the fps drops to 40

smart phone processors becoming so powerful but the main isuue is heat management may be in the future thermodynamic egg solve this issue
Idk man but it's really hot in my region and Apple doesn't perform so well compared to other Android phones. When the phone gets hot after 20 minutes of gameplay it just throttles and becomes unplayable but android phone will still maintain the performance while being as hot as the iPhone. So I think for longer sessions of gaming, android phones are better than iPhones.
They start to throttle at about 10 mins (the Android, because iPhone already throttle at about 2 mins), so at least of the 16 mins long test was under throttling for both phone, and they will handle the throttling on the same way even on longer period, i mean if iPhone show that performance for 14 mins throttling than can do the same for longer too (until you plug in the charger, because that will add one more heat generation source..)
I use custom kernels on android for years now to adjust throttling thresholds and performance profiles on my phone. The stock ones were too strict and lead to the game lagging almost constantly on SD845(Poco F1) and dropping frames too soon on SD870(Poco F3). Maybe it does slowly kill my phones, but it's either really slow or isn't a problem at all since I used that F1 for 5 years (3 of which with custom kernel) and my sister is still using it and plays genshin on it (never changed the battery in it as well) and F3 is still sitting at 95% battery even tho it's been nearly 2 years now

You should do a test with the bypass charging feature that the S24 Ultra has.
Gimmick you cant play and hold the phone properly when a usb cable is on it...on the rog phone because of the second usb port it become useful.
That is so weird. I am getting higher temperatures for this game AND lower stability on this game on the iPhone 15 Pro. Maybe because I tested in Fontaine and you in Inazuma? My iPhone is reaching 49 C with these settings and seeing frame drops day in and day out.
Or what if it’s because you’re a pro max and I’m the smaller pro?
Could be both. Inazuma is less demanding than Fontaine. Also Pro Max has better thermal dissipation
@@DameTechI also have both a blue and white version of the iPhone. The white version is always doing thermally better than the blue one. But with a phone cooler I got 58.9fps on max AND MetalFX in Fontaine. So no, the MetalFX is not taxing the gpu extra. The NPU is bearing the burden.
Fontaine and sumeru is much heavier than inazuma
Pro has worse heat dissipation than pro max because smaller body
Your room temp might be higher
Do you really not understand that the pro max version has much better cooling? 😂
Im impressed with the results of your 15 pro max. Same settings, but it drops brightness to around 75% and overall lags more often. May be the quality of the processor inside is worse, not sure.
How to display gpu performance next to the screen on iPhone?
Could you explain how metalfx is increasing the resolution? According to my understanding of metalfx, setting it to the highest quality still means its rendering from a lower base resolution than it turned off. Im confused. Please do clear the confusion
Do you know anything about Nvidia DLLS, AMD FSR or Intel XeSS? All of them work about the same way, they are calculating the game images normally, but when it's ready they are upscaling it to a higher resolution, so you can get a bit higher fps like you get normally.
Like you can get 120fps at 1080p, but only 70fps at 1440p natively with your GPU, but with turned on upscaling your computer still only calculating the 1080p images, but upscaling it to 1440p so you will get 1440p at 120fps instead of just 70fps for example.
@TamasKiss-yk4st I do understand how these work. But the target resolution does not increase after applying these spatial/temporal upcalers if that makes sense. All of these render from a lower base resolution and upscale to the target resolution. The target resolution being static here as a reference. I think in the video he mentioned that enabling metalfx increases the resolution than what the iPhone does natively which is simply untrue. Again I'm not denying the performance benefits which are evident. The iPhone having lower GPU utilization is not Apple magic as some would have you believe. It's simply rendering the game at a lower base resolution and then applying metalfx on it
I recently bought iPhone 15 pro max and decided to test its performance in games. I noticed something weird, while playing Genshin(I don’t play this game, but decided to download it to see if my phone can handle it). No matter which settings I use, it lags, every 5-7 seconds. Interesting thing is that when I look around(circle around the character) it looks smooth, but when I start moving it does this some kind of “shutter” if you call it like that. Any advices?
Yes, the game it's a bit unoptimized for some reason, so i think it's normal to have stutter when you move your character around
Game engine isnt well optimized
Hey man, can you make a video on Asphalt 9 on iPhone 15 Pro series @120 Hz, I’m seeing a lot of frame drops.
yeah asphalt 9 developers are shy af to optimise for ios devices.
Cuz Qualcomm pays to gameloft to optimise their game even on lower budget snapdragon chips to show games run better on snapdragon. Where its clearly behind from A15 bionic even
@@tawsiaislam2855 ahaan then the reason is clear! Thanks man.

Update 5/10: Dame, the reason why the thermals look so good on the iPhone is because you played on a controller. When I played with my hands it was overheating to 51.6 Celsius and the performance dropped to 56.8fps average with Max settings and MetalFX. However, when the controller was connected, I got 59.3 fps on Fontaine, and the temperature was at 46 degrees C.
I've tested with hands as well and never reached this temp. In fact, my iPhone or iPad gives the allow device to cool alert if I get passed 47-48c. 🤔 something could be wrong with you device, or the iOS version you have installed. I specifically use controller moreso for aestheic and gives watchers more information.

Wow nice comparison, it is obvious that nothing can beat rog phone. Even in the camera I saw a comparison between iphone & rog but rog has even more vibrant colors. But iphone did good too
Do you understand what you saw? I mean the Android had about 740p rendering resolution, and iPhone had almost 1300p, so nearly twice wider and twice taller was the rendering area (what is almost 4x more pixels in total, so definitly more demanding in performance, even if majority of those pixels comes from the upscaling, even that is not a free thing, it's also required performance.. and even before upscaling iPhone still had 800p rendering resolution which still 10% higher and 10% taller, and 1,1*1,1=1,21, which means at least 20% more pixels are calculated.. so until you can't do 20% more frames, if you multiply the total pixel/frame * fps, the iPhone still calculated way more pixels in each sec, so it did better job.. just check it which one looks better the 720p video or the 1440p video on youtube.. and let me ask you if the 720p video 60fps increasd to 61fps will look better than the 1440p with 59fps..? So until the Android only do the easy way, that 1-2fps difference is laughable, if it can do it also with 1300p than that is something, but even the 740p required 70% GPU load, while the 1300p on iPhone was 60% GPU load)
@@TamasKiss-yk4st no need to explain bro, we can just tell by looking the differences. Sometimes we can not see it just minding the informative specs.
