Here's a video idea: bring people who claim that they can "sense" spirits or dirty things and bring them BLINDFOLDED to 5 locations around singapore, 3 of them being normal places / parks and 2 of them being places that are supposedly "haunted", and see if they can actually tell the difference.

In some culture, if you hear laughter or cries in the forest and it's loud, it means a ghost/spirit is far. But if the sound felt far, it means that thing is very close to you. That's why when you were at the cemetery, the singing was so low that you didn't hear it but when you left it got louder. Very eery ngl

Its actually ok that you got scared and left rather than investigate the singing actually. Sometimes there are some things on earth that are better left alone. Certain "things" can also change the environment around you so if something feels wrong or you feel like something really bad is about to happen, just get the heck out of there and don't look back, we need you alive for more paranormal hunting videos. Also, when visiting cemeteries try not to point your torch light at them and blank out the face of the deceased if there are any because spirits don't like people doing these kinds of things to them.

props to you guys for doing that. if you hear music, or someone singing, talking, lauhging where there's supposedly no one there, if it sounds far away, it means that its really close to you. in your video, its probably some bunian singing to you lmao
when your cameraman said it felt cold when you entered that cemetary area, its possible that the "veil" is really thin there so "they" can interract with you better.

More than 10 years ago, I was serving in the Armour Logistics as a reservist. We deployed at Simpang opposite Seletar Island. At 5 am, I was making my way to the sentry post with my buddy as we were the next sentry security detail. As I walked, I heard Islamic chants and it felt like it was coming from the bushes. I was spooked at first but then we realised that the sound came across the waters from a masjid around Pasir Gudang across the Straits. In my culture, or maybe Asian cultures (not so sure), if you hear ‘something’ or see ‘something’, it’s better to just keep quiet and keep it to yourself. Cos somehow when you voice it out like “did you see/hear that” or even encounter ‘something’, you get high fever the next day. I’ve heard stories of ppl encountering ‘things’ and they suddenly get the fever the next day. It’s weird but I still believe it.

Even if you don't believe or encounter anything paranormal, if you see or hear anything that doesn't make logical sense ignore it. When something wants attention, you should never give any indication that you "hear" or "see". It just makes them want to follow you. The same applies to people in public as well. you don't want to draw the attention of someone who is acting strange and come closer to you.

I'll come in with a possible explanation for the singing(?). Sound travels pretty far across bodies of water and from the map there appears to be two different quarries: kekek and ketam quary. Perhaps there were some people chilling on the other side of one of the quarries singing but ya'll didn't manage to bump into them. Personal experience of this was back in Tekong Island during an outfield when all of a sudden the forest was just filled with very loud and noticeable muslim chanting. Felt a little spooked but it turned out that the chanting was coming from Malaysia across the straits, so ya'll might have experienced that rather than sp00ks.

as someone who's gone to pulau ubin for OBS camp before, i've kinda had the same experience of the "singing" you heard, my group and i had to camp out at a place called "kekek quarry" which was pretty damn far from anything else too... i'm not sure if it's near where you were, but i have also heard the same singing and music that sounded like a male's voice, and it creeped me out too since it was odd as we were in a very deserted area and yet the singing and music was really prominent.. maybe it's the same singing that you heard, but nonetheless it really left me at unease and i hope it wasn't the singing of a spirit :,)

Altough it looked very sketchy, me and guys stayed up all through the night and early morning and explored the entire camp grounds. I experienced the similar situation regarding the loud music playing. It was back in 2016 and I was a camp instructor. It was about midnight when we heard loud music seems to be from a moving vehicle but the thing is, the only road that passes thru that area was where our campsite was. It happened often that we treated as per normal eventually. It was playing some old Chinese song. Not sure if it’s from the residence or is it a tradition to keep the spirits happy at night.

Thanks for posting this video, in particular I had a very similar experience when serving national service. We were in the thick of the jungle when musical instruments and singing was heard. The funny thing is that no one can make out what language it was nor what type of instruments were playing and it comes and goes intermittently….I was a tank commander and my tank was parked in the furthest position of a tactical formation and the voice was like 5m or so in front of our tank in the thickets. When I realized there’s no infantry men around our tank is when the chills went up my spine…

I remembered the first time I camped out at Pulau Ubin and saw a dog barking furiously at pitch darkness for more than an hour. It stood its ground but never dared to chase whatever it was seeing. On the same night, my friend and I went on a night walk equipped with torchlights and chemlights to bring ourselves back to the campsite. During which he took the lead. It was a jungle path that we scouted earlier in the day with a bridge that we intended to use as a marker to turn back. At one moment, when I shone my flashlight at his back, I was confronted by the sight of him walking towards a brick wall that I had never seen before. At first, I thought we got lost, but after shining my flashlight at his back again, I no longer saw that brick wall. Maybe I merely hallucinated that brick wall, but I can't explain the dog's behaviour on that night. These oddities don't just happen at night though, for I've experienced a moment of pure silence in the jungle before, which was filled with the noise of animals like a few seconds ago or so. Despite these, I still adore Pulau Ubin for what it is - the final tropical paradise in Singapore waters. Yet, I sometimes think that's probably the reason why so many Ubin residents choose to stay there forever and continue to reside there in the afterlife.

The colours symbolise the five elements. Belief is that prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread peace, compassion, wisdom, strength into the space. (summarised from wiki)
I think the singing is quite synonymous with some other investigations that I have seen. First thoughts were also radio (as people like to just place radio sets by the tombstone), someone living in the area (but that's an ungodly hour to be singing) or someone just trying to scare people away?
