    I've been devouring your content over the last week and was moaning to my wife last night that you guys hadn't posted a morel video... and then...
    I've been mushroom hunting for about 5 years and am yet to find a true morel, despite infuriating my family by inspecting every wood chip patch I pass in the Spring.
    Thanks for the videos; please keep them coming.

    I'm pretty certain I have these in my front garden this year!

    Thanks for pointing out the difference in the various morels’ interior structures. This was a very informational video!

    Gorgeous looking mushrooms! I can't wait to find my first morels, will be quite the search, but I've no doubt it will be worth it.

    Put down some wood chips around a newly planted Elderberry tree last autumn, yesterday just glanced at it and spotted a bunch of these guys growing around the shrub.

    I see that importuna has been included in brackets after elata, can anyone shed some light on if this is the same species?

      @WildFoodUK1  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Rusty, importuna is the current scientific name for The black morel. Though the black morels in the UK are now considered a clade and split into various species...

      Wild Food UK fantastic! Thanks for the information. I found a black morel in my garden, at first I had no idea what it was, then I went to google and found your website. From there I found this video, and I went from mild revulsion at this odd looking thing, to cooking it up with my tea! It was so delicious, I’m going to hunt for more whilst ‘tis the season. I may have caught the foraging bug. Thanks for your help!

      It's a great way to start. I know plenty of people who have been foraging for years in the UK without finding any Morels. Maybe you're a natural ;)

    "It is important to cook them"... Boil, fry, grill, in stew, in a pie...? You should be clear on how they should be cooked.
