@@jkperdue1109 💙 I try to bring my pup with me shelling as often as I can, but sometimes logistics can get in the way. Rest assured, she will be in more episodes coming soon!
Hello! The colors of the moons(both Northern Moons, and Sharkeyes), appear to be impacted by the unique dark color staining that occurs in the north Atlantic! Thanks so much for watching!
...some cool finds and it did look cold as you are bundled up like a tamale on a dinner plate!...beautiful weather for your trip and, of course, 4K makes it look so much more detailed!!....and, thanx for letting me tag along once again with you on such a blustery day...!
Hello, yes this is Mastic/Fire Island area. I have featured some content on this channel near this spot before. I recently read that this area is one of the most remote locations on Long Island - so interesting! Thanks for watching!
I’m a Long Islander and I love when you post videos from our beaches. Don’t know why I didn’t see this one sooner! Please visit LI again in the near future!
I was living in NYC for quite a few years, so Long Island was pretty accessible for me, lol. It's definitely in my agenda to get back to some of these locations on LI! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us! Your photography is incredibly beautiful and quite relaxing. I love to see you walking away from the camera down the beach and your handful of finds at the end of each video. Again thank you for sharing!
Hello friend! I appreciate you acknowledging these aspects of the content. I have always aimed to provide a visual storytelling experience, and shots such as those help tell the stories! Thank you for coming along!
Wow what amazing shells today. The shark eyes and moon snails have amazing colors. Love the shells you found. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing your videos. Have a great day.
That was the biggest variety of colors on the moon snails you found. I have a weakness for the flat scallops. When they are fully intact and a beautiful color, I just think nature is perfect. Thanks for a great video. 🐕🥰
Hello friend! Great question - both shells are considered Moonsnails(belonging to the same family(Natica), but different are species). Northern Moonsnails have a more cold water distribution, where as Sharkeye Moonsnails have a more temperate/subtropical distribution. Northern Moonsnails are generally more "spherically" shaped, while Sharkeye Moon snails are more "discus" in shape. Thanks for watching!
I'm not too surprised you were the only one out there given the cold! You definitely hit it good with those shark eyes. I'd love to explore the northern beaches one day. I'm also surprised you managed to find whole angel wings with the rough surf. That happens to me too, where I find perfect fragile shells, but still find the durable robust shells obliterated into a million pieces. Happy hunting!
Hi friend! Yeah, it was quite blustery on this day - it was filmed a year ago in January of 2022. This location is beautiful and the wrack lines go on forever, but they are pretty thin in some spots, so it ends up requiring a lot of walking, lol. I am loving your coverage of the outer banks in NC, keep up the great work! Thanks for watching!
Feet warmers? There's such a thing as that? Does that mean you could get shocked if your feet get wet? Thankyou for braving the cold too❣ I surely enjoy these adventures, thankyou 🥰 < hugs! You truely found some pretty moons n sharkeyes. So coquinas are not common there. Basket welk was new to me too.
Hello! Well, not electric feet warmers - they are little disposable insole packets that keep your toes warm. They are life savers for me, haha! Thanks so much for coming along!
Such a fun but cold shelling trip. Absolutely gorgeous shark eyes. The colors are amazing! I also love those Bay scallops. Can't pass by one without taking it. Beautiful beach!
I'm wondering if you can use laundry dryer sheets to semi-protect your gathered shells from breakage in your collection bag while walking?? Maybe worth a try?? At least they are lightweight. I especially liked this video. Great finds!! 🐚🐚 Happy shelling ❣️ P.S. 💙 your fur baby too 🐾
Hello! I have never actually considered using laundry sheets for the protection of the mini's - it's an interesting idea! Thank you so much, for watching!
Hi friend! This particular episode was filmed about a year ago, and I wasn't able to bring her along on this day. I do try to take her with me as often as possible! Thanks for watching!
The views were really in poor light, and many times you barely gave the viewer any time to look at the shell before it was gone. I had to stop watching. Sorry.
@@solaceinshelling6552 thanks for the reply, I really do want to watch your videos, and I know from being a shark tooth hunter that the light on the beach can be really weird if you are looking from the wrong angle.
Thank you so much. It is always a treat to sea all the amazing finds.Love everything about it.
You find some amazing shells. Thanks for the trip to the beach. Love background music.very relaxing.
