I'm also surprised you managed to find whole angel wings with the rough surf. That happens to me too, where I find perfect fragile shells, but still find the durable robust shells obliterated into a million pieces. Happy hunting!

This location is beautiful and the wrack lines go on forever, but they are pretty thin in some spots, so it ends up requiring a lot of walking, lol. Hello friend! Great question - both shells are considered Moonsnails(belonging to the same family(Natica), but different are species). Northern Moonsnails have a more cold water distribution, where as Sharkeye Moonsnails have a more temperate/subtropical distribution. Northern Moonsnails are generally more "spherically" shaped, while Sharkeye Moon snails are more "discus" in shape. Thanks for watching!
