thanks for the video. i also dig your East coast voices. Reminds of the of Click & Clack the Tabert brothers of CarTalk. The father teaching son is great too. Thanks again guys.
Not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend lately =)
Nice video. My first vehicle is a rusty 01 TJ and I love it. I am gonna be replacing the head this week. The 01 4.0 came with a crack prone head and I got it. Fun vehicle to learn on. Expensive though
Uploaded a year ago nice. Did a flush several times on my jeep before replacing the pump/radiator with an aluminum one and it would sit in a hot parking lot running the AC no problem. Year later Took it out mudding had some fun and it temp started fluctuating past 210 and bubbling in the radiator while cruising out in some snowy mountains so I ordered some Zerex G05 to do another flush and see what's going on again.
All Prestone coolants are OAT coolants, AKA-Dexacool, and will gum up your cooling system. You want true Ethylene Glycol or use the new Chrysler coolant which is a HOAT coolant (Zerex GO5), anything else you will have issues down the road with your cooling system.
I think if you took the thermostat hose off and drained that it would have gotten more of that stuff out and took less flushes. IDK I'm just guessing, saw a guy do it in another video. Not a lot came out of there but the stuff that did come out was way worse than the other, like real thick muddy stuff. He mentioned draining the heater core or something too but never did it so idk if that's a thing you can do or what
Thanks for the tutorial! I noticed you have the squeaky belt too. Is that just the idle/tensioner pulley making that sound? This is the first vehicle I’ve ever owned that had a manual tensioner so I’m not sure if I need to adjust the tension in the winter vs summer here in Wisconsin.
May have been the color of the Mopar Coolant, It's a reddish orange, a little different than the Dex-Cool color.... or it may just have been dirty with rust.
wow - have any pets w/all that first fill spilled anti-freeze? Kill any strays? Wildlife? My apologies if you cleaned it up afterwards but you did not mention the dangers.
Just curious. Isn't that a JK (2007 +) model Jeep? It looks like a JK grill and a V6 motor. How many miles does the Jeep have on it? Enjoyed the video never the less.
Yes, those must have been added because the factory front turn signals were cut away with most of the outer fender. Never realized it until you pointed it out. Thanks for watching.
How much did this cost you for all the flushes I have the same problem with my Jeep Wrangler thinking of just taking it to the shop and paying the 125 bucks
@@AxlesGarage Thank you for your post I ended up using two different brand antifreeze and it gummed up my radiator had to do the same thing ended up taking it into the shop cost was 69 bucks for the flush and refill. I know I would have done it the way you were showing if it were warmer out. Thanks again.
Yes, but we still need to flush like crazy to get the same muck out of the engine water jackets and heater core. We wound up replacing the radiator in a later video.

Crap, you shouldn't be having those problems. Is the radiator clogged from the mudding? Make sure to clean out those fins. Thanks for watching.
Love this video. I am a jeep owner and its so expensive to have any flushes done on your vehicle
Glad we could help. Thanks for Watching.
Great video. I had the same experience with my 2001 TJ and appreciate you guys.
Thanks 👍
Great video and good team work.
I thought HOAT was the required coolant for a Jeep 4.0? Either OEMor Zerex G-05. Thanks for your videos and time.
You cant use any coolant you want, as long as they are compatible with each other. I have begun using the regular green that is listed as universal.

Great simple video and easy to hear you guys. Thank you

Good idea
Putting tap water in an engine is not good in mineral rich areas
Great Point. Thanks for Watching.

It turned out to be the belt. Thanks for watching.
Love the hat!!!! Drain cock drain cock drain cock!! Thanks Trump, I've been waiting to do that LOL
thank you so much for this!
Why would you use antifreeze for the flush? Distilled water is cheaper.
He literally explained why in the video, dipshit.
I looked at mine the other day I have a 97 TJ 4 cylinder it looked like just rusty water

We have a local Chinese restaurant who comes around and collects all the strays. and yes... we have 2 dogs

Great job- i really like how you're teaching the kid how to work on his own Jeep. MAGA!
Thanks for Watching.
What cap did you replace? The radiator cap? My TJ is doing the same thing.
Yes sir.
Good Job guys!
Thanks for watching.

Its a 2001 TJ. The nose looks JK-ish because it has no flares and cut fenders. I think there are around 150K on the body and 30K on the engine.
The turn signals under the headlights makes it look like a JK. I guess it has a 4 banger engine also. Take care.
Yes, those must have been added because the factory front turn signals were cut away with most of the outer fender. Never realized it until you pointed it out. Thanks for watching.
RC-Collector um no...looks nothing like a jk at all
Good to see you teaching him. And Go Trump!

Woulda helped if u actually said where the drain plug was.. maybe pointed it out in the vid.. its why i came to this vid..
The drain is directly under the radiator. Righty tighty, lefty loosey.
Wyatt Flamont use your eyes
Did you ever find your drain plug? Lol
How much did this cost you for all the flushes I have the same problem with my Jeep Wrangler thinking of just taking it to the shop and paying the 125 bucks
Not too bad, less than a shop. If you do it in the warmer weather, you can use just water to do the flushes. Thanks for watching.

69 bucks is a deal. Good find.
I would think a shop might not do so through a flushing.
I guess I missed it when Obama outlawed swearing. Thank god trump fixed that.

wouldn't be cheaper and faster just to buy a new radiator?
