    2:35 .. you DO want it to get hot to open the thermostat AND run the heater blower to flush out the old coolant in the heater core near the glove box

    Thank you for making this video. I'm doing my flush today. I will use the Prestone Flushing Kit as it seems to make this flush and future ones easier. I'll write this in my car's manual showing the date and the products I used. When doing an engine flush, it's also an excellent time for inspecting the hoses.

    Did you not bother draining the radiator petcock? Or the coolant bolt on engine block? If not you did not completely flush the system. You got maybe 80% of coolant & your flushing 4 times but you still have old coolant that didn't come out.

    I heard that you're only suppose to keep the cleaner for a max of 4hours in your engine or it can damage it.
    people seem to leave it for days tho until they hit about 100mi or so. Is this safe and more effective?
    I'm talking about the newer version of the prestone cleaner: prestone total cooling system cleaner.

    • @smartdummy5751
      @smartdummy5751 2 года назад +1

      @@freedompioneer4311 yeah, I found that kinda excessive as well and possibly detrimental to an engine too.
      Perhaps they meant to say that they ran the cleaner with water for 100mi in one go to clean the engine good?
