''They try to paint me as a sex symbol'' - That's exactly what August said in an interview a year ago. The thing about this mans career is I feel like he's now truly becoming who HE really is. His first album was truly not him if you listen. Songs like ''Porn Star'' are a direct result of a label trying to control an artist.. Fast forward to This Thing Called Life where August's story-telling was on another level. Songs like ''Look At How Far I've Come'' and ''Dreamer'' made me realize who August really was.. I felt like that was a side that I've never seen from him before. And in that album it was all HIM! The point is - August is doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing. Expanding on his vision for his music videos, becoming more mature and wiser (if you watch his interviews you'll see), and making the music he wants to make. This is him. And I'll support him even more. That's my take on it all. Feel free to share if you feel the same way. Much love

He's talked about topics that are important to him - like his brother getting gunned down in songs like ''Downtown. He's talked about the struggle and overcoming it while simultaneously becoming a better man in songs like ''Benediction''. Maybe he wants to go in a different direction with this next project and talk about his love life, because he's damn good at that. Point I'm trying to make is - I truly believe that he's becoming himself more, and the only reson I'm saying that is because he's STILL touching on meaningful subjects that matter to him. And that's all that matters to me as a listeter and a fan. I hope you see another side to this after what I wrote. Much love.
