this was a super fun video, even for an experienced builder! That price changes all the time comment is really the one that’s so hard about recommending builds to people, especially for certain components (e.g. motherboards/PSUs) that see frequent large price fluctuations.

I recommend getting all the information you can and sending links of new parts like the 6000 series GPUs from AMD, new CPUs and etc. Then asking it to make a list, its a lot of work but much better.

Oz, recently found your videos and immediately subscribed. Thanks for the content. I did want to suggest including the price of the monitor in these builds, since it seems that almost no other RUclipsrs do that. Seeing as how even a modest 1080p gaming monitor is around $120-$150, it can catch people off guard when they see the price doesn’t include that.

I don't think chatgpt checks anything, it's a big statistical model that separates your text input into tokens (more or less words) and then assigns values to those tokens. It then produces an output by matching other tokens that have the highest likely hood of follow your tokens. It does not actually know anything about the text your providing it with.

This was a really cool video OZ!
Snapchat just made a gpt chat bot companion which I was playing around with. It works really well for things that are too... colloquial for google searching.
I just tried asking it to build be a pc at x price range, added some more prompts like gaming performance, under x dollars, amd platform etc. Even which platform is better price to performance.
I got some really good responses. Super unbiased. This bot seems to be more up to date than seen in this video. I asked which ai it was and It said Open AI gpt 3 thats been reworked specifically for snapchat.
I also told it my current build and asked what would be the best thing to upgrade and its response was solid. I have a strong build already but with 1 tb nvme and 16g ram. it suggested getting more drive space as it fills up pretty quick and if i do lots of multitasking that going to 32g ram would help with system stability etc. It also stated that my rig was really powerful and should be fine.
You should play around with more specific prompts. Like asking it to build a 12th gen intel from new egg at x dollars.
Just had an idea when typing this. I asked it to basically benchmark my build list. This is really impressive. Saying my 12600k and 3060ti should get around 60-100 fps on new AAA games at high settings 1080p, 50-80 1440p etc.

I think GPT could be helpful, not for asking to make a build list but making a step by step guide on how to build it, like how do I connect the power button to my motherboard? how do cables look if you're looking for an 8 pin connector for example. It has the potential for making build lists, but it's limited to 2021 and it messes up a lot with math, maybe GPT4 would be more accurate with the sum of the products, I imagine this time the AI added a tax at random, I think if you specify the percentage of your location might make the tax addition more accurate. Again, it has the potential, but I'd say it's going to take a few years to recommend an AI to choose your parts.

    • @Nidelimit
      @Nidelimit Год назад

@@tylisirn yeah, usually the manual it's the way to go, but when I've built mine most of the parts where second hand, some stuff came with the manual and others didn't, sure you can do a Google to find the PDF, but if you're looking for something specific you don't have to hassle scrolling on the PDF

The issue is that ChatGPT doesn't actually _know_ or _understand_ anything. It has no concept of CPUs and motherboards and RAM slots -- it's basically a fancy statistical model that figures out what word should go next based on the input. Plus the data only goes up to 2021, and for things released after that, it might just be grabbing from conversations that talked about future hardware back in 2021.
The reason it doesn't do well with compatibility checks is because it doesn't do like you do, pulling up a compatibility chart [you either do it in your head or do it on a computer]; it refers to all the conversations it has access to and looks at what typically comes after, say, "Ryzen 5" for the motherboard, memory, etc.; it lists the base components because it looks at conversations referring to the main parts of computer; it just keeps breaking down into smaller and smaller chunks of related topics and just maths out what's likely.
One of the big issues with it is that it will VERY confidently give you incorrect information. It's best to take anything it says with a huge heaping of salt -- it may be right, it may be totally making stuff up. And while it's supposed to NOT speculate or make things up [to prevent the spread of misinformation]. sometimes it does it by accident and has no way to tell you

Here's a breakdown of how you could allocate your budget for a new computer:
GPU: 30-40% of your total budget. For example, if you have a budget of $1,000, you could allocate $300-$400 for the GPU.
CPU: 20-25% of your total budget. For example, if you have a budget of $1,000, you could allocate $200-$250 for the CPU.
RAM: 10-15% of your total budget. For example, if you have a budget of $1,000, you could allocate $100-$150 for the RAM.
Storage: 10-15% of your total budget. For example, if you have a budget of $1,000, you could allocate $100-$150 for the storage.
Motherboard: 10-15% of your total budget. For example, if you have a budget of $1,000, you could allocate $100-$150 for the motherboard.
Power supply and cooling: 5-10% of your total budget. For example, if you have a budget of $1,000, you could allocate $50-$100 for the power supply and cooling.
