Drug stores were known for lunch counters and soda/ice cream fountains in the first half of the 20th century. They largely faded from popularity in the 60's and by the 80's independent drug stores were closing all over the place.
I still can't get over that "magical blackboard" that looks all smeared up when the coach first erased it and then it got clean and clear a few times off and on!! Haha! Maybe it was Rose's punishment to clean it for her wiley ways!!
