Love your videos! I graduated high school with a 2.8 gpa and barely walked. Went to community college for two years and ended up getting into my dream undergrad school! Now I am in my first year of grad school and have been thriving! I hope to go on to a PHD! Just shows to go everyone goes at your own pace! Really appreciate you sharing your story!
Hello Everyone! This video has been a long time coming and is jam packed with a lot of info about my academic background, the application process, why I applied to YALE, and even the statement of purpose I submitted! I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions about PhD Admissions, please email me at kaelyn@acceptedconsulting.com or check out acceptedconsulting.com/
I really hope you are able to share your thesis when you are done as your work sounds very cool and I love gender and history studies and learning newer info!
Thank you so much for the video!!! As an international student and non-native English speaker, writing a statement is absolutely not an easy job and I’ve been so stressed out for the past few months… can’t wait for the next video 😍😍
this was very helpful! i'm thinking about applying to a PhD program in a few years and honestly the process is so overwhelming. I would love to hear more about how you connected to interview professors and students prior to applying and what types of questions you asked to figure out if the program was right for you.
This video is so helpful I can't even describe it in words! I'm going to be starting my master's degree this September and although I got into a good level school at the competitiveness I felt comfortable at (I felt like I would be overwhelmed at super high-level schools so chose not to apply to, say, Oxford and Edinburgh Uni regardless of whether or not I believed I could actually get in) I do think I didn't do the best at writing my SoP which possibly, maybe, maybe not, cost me a scholarship somewhere at some point. TMI. Anyway, I've always wondered what people are writing in their Statements, so thank you for reading yours in full!! If you are taking suggestions and haven't done this or a similar video already, could you consider a video where you go through the steps/process of researching for a graduate/phd program? You had mentioned how one of the reasons you chose Yale was because it supported cross-disciplinary scholars, and I was wondering how you can tell that is the case. Did you simply go through the dissertations/thesis abstracts of previous students and the research output of professors or were there other steps you took as well? Thanks! 😁😅
Thanks for this video, your channel seems to be god sent! ❤️ I am planning to go for doctoral studies after a break of ten years. I don't have much research work to my credit but I do have teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Do you think a lack of research would inhibit my prospects?
Great video! Would you consider making one on the admissions processes for the other universities you applied to (Stanford, Harvard, UPenn, UVa) offering a comparison?
You mentioned you did 30 interviews before you applied. How did you schedule these interviews, and do you recommend this strategy if you also want to apply for a master's program?
This is an incredible video. I am so glad I found you here. Thank you so much for uploading this video. I'm motivated to write my essay at 3:20 a.m. after watching your video. I have a question regarding the opening sentence of the statement. Do we have to mention, for instance, I'm writing to submit my application for...... I completed my master's degree from......- some background?! Some schools have a word limit, and I was wondering if I could get rid of these above mentioned lines, and start my statement with my research experience. What do you suggest? Thank you again.
Thank you for such an informative video! A question if you may allow: do American units especially Yale take a great deal of emphasis on the applicant’s undergraduate grades? (I was not doing really well in my undergraduate years: 69% overall), and is it worth doing a gap year for phd application for the sake of preparing it and getting MA results? Thanks❤
Hi, I am pursuing Master's in History and planning to pursue my PhD in History from USA. Can you please tell what are the post doc placement chances and other opportunities?
Hey, I am currently an undergraduate student at University of Delhi and am planning on going on to pursue Masters in Global studies at Free University at Berlin. I wanted to plan further to when I apply for PhD programmes and just wanted to ask you as to what will be the best package for me to take at Accepted Consulting. Thankyou.
Love your video. Do you know if you still have your statement of purpose an if you can you send it me? I am applying to Yale and starting to write and I would like to make sure that I am doing it right.
Hi for plagarism purposes, I do not give out a copy of my statements but have developed a personal statement and sop writing guide with templates here: acceptedconsulting.com/shop/p/gradadmissionsessayguide
How can Oxford offer a Master's degree in just 9 months? Is this good enough to apply to Ph.D. programs afterwards in the US? What happened to a two year Master's degree? They don't have that there?
Many people do the nine month programs in the UK in order to bolster their cv, research experience, languages, etc. It's a great stepping stone because the programs are focused on research rather than two years of additional coursework.
I am aspiring to do Phd from School of environment and forest sciences. Its hard to find scholarship and a supervisor. Any help you could offer in this regard?
Hey there! As colleges are test optional this year should I send my 1350 SAT score to the top ones and explain y I couldn't do better if I have genuine personal and circumstantial reasons? Or is it better to not send them? (I'm an international student)?
Your videos are SO helpful! I'm trying to plan a strategy for my daughter's education in Art History/Museum Studies. I've found some good private liberal arts colleges as well as some public universities that have good programs in Art History. The University of Georgia offers Art History and Museum Studies at the bachelor, master's, and Ph.D. levels. Personally, I think she should go all the way to Ph.D. Since we live in Georgia, would it make more sense for her to attend UGA for all three degrees? Or, would it be better for her education experience to attend different schools for each degree for a more rounded or global experience? I like Berry College and Agnes Scott College here in Georgia as well as Williams College in Massachusetts. I think studying abroad in the U.K would be a tremendous benefit for her too. What are your thoughts? Should she keep it consistent by staying at UGA or mix it up with a variety of experiences? I appreciate any advice. Thanks.
Hello! I recommend having your daughter schedule a Graduate Admissions consultation with Chloe @ acceptedconsulting.com who specializes in Art History and Museum Studies.
Is it true that English language education is not an Indemand skill in USA? I am an English language Education master's graduate, can I get a phd in communication in Medicals?

Do we need to an intense research experience for the Biological Sciences PhD program at Yale
You’ll need some lab experience, hopefully as a research assistant
Thank you
How did you get accepted to do honors if your gpa was low?

How did you get into an Ivy League with low scores
You look so amazing
