what a great video! I've been thinking to visit Eigg for years, it's a bit of a hassle to plan ferry trips there at least for me. in Jan thou I've got few days off and after watching this video I'm almost certain I'll go to Eigg doing pretty much same walk as You did , probably with only difference of staying in tent overnight on Sgurr and near the beach on 2nd night.. once again, what a great video! !! Thank You !
Beautiful video as always. It looks like you caught a nice winter high pressure system and the bluebird skies that come with it. For those of us who have never been to Scotland, myself included, it provides just the right motivation to plan a trip into the region. Keep it up!
Looks fantastic. I've never been across to Eigg but have seen plenty of it from a distance. Days like those in winter are unforgettable and the cold air means great photography as well. I'm glad to didn't keep up the Eigg/egg jokes!
Great video, Simon. I agree Laig Bay is an amazing place to visit. It's one of my favourite places anywhere. But not sure I'd swim in January, even with a wetsuit!
We spent one of our honeymoon days cycling on Egg. It was magical and lovely to see it all in the sunshine in your video. Can I ask which hiking poles you use?
Wow, you had two spectacular days! And I like that you described the beach as 'rasping'. The 'singing sands' is a rather romanticised moniker in English, but as always the original Gaelic name is more accurate and closer to your own choice - Tràigh a' Bhìgeil, 'the squeaking beach'.
I must have read the right book Mark, because I didn't know that! Yes, we were very lucky with the weather - we had about a week of that early January.
Great videography, that pocket drone is real asset to your production! Liz is a real swimmer- i haven't got nerves to swim in the in frigid water. BTW-What's the name of your dog? I see her always hiking along like a trooper.
Hi Will - That drone is the DJI 3 pro - it’s small but much better quality than the Hover X1. Liz swims without wetsuit year round! Amazes me. Oh and that’s @maggietheborderterrier who has her own channel.
Great video. Most of my family are from Eigg, and it's great to see the island showcased in this manner.
Thanks for sharing. 😊
Splendid bit of weather but you still captured the winter frosting, nice. Thank you for taking us along 😊
What a fantastic trip you had, Eigg has just gone onto my bucket list!
That was great, Simon! Glorious weather and magnificent landscapes. You're lucky...!
Great video! Those Eigg Running Club members must have strong ankles to run over that terrain.

I’m pleased you enjoyed it.
One of my most memorable runs was to the top of the Sgurr and back to the quay for tea & medals. Handy having family in Mallaig.
I gather it was a very popular run with the record at around 42 minutes!
That’s quick. I don’t time my holiday runs, I’m there for the views but too impatient to walk😂
You did pick a good day, and yes, that seems to me to have been a proper adventure. Thanks for posting.
Stunning skies (both by day and by night). Thanks Simon.
Enjoyed the adventure.
Tremendous and a great dog too.😊
Love
Amazing
Beautiful
That looks rather glorious. It's time I ventured north, and Eigg looks well worth a visit.

Thank you very much - we had quite a few days like that early January. Now we’re back under grey skies.
Absolutely stunning 👍

Yeah those jokes would be eiggzausting
He'd have to shell out in royalties.

Fantastic scenery and cinematography! Thanks for the drone shots too! They really added to it, but I know it was additional weight to pack.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Nor me, but Liz is a bit different! 😁
Lovely, thanks for sharing!
Weeks holiday booked for May weekend near Arisaig and Eigg is a certainty this year. Thank you for the video.
Superb video of a beautiful island - makes me want to return, hopefully, in conditions like those.

It’s a great island. The poles are Leki. The white ones fairly new and mine are more than twenty years old.
That is absolutely beautiful❤

Hi Simon, great blog thanks, brings back memories & long overdue a visit. May I ask what make/model your good lady's goldy-coloured jacket is, please?
@@lornsmith643 It's a Finisterre and the model is Etobicoke. Liz bought it in the sale a while ago and it doesn't seem to be on their website now.
Spectacular
Went to Howlin Fling festival 2023 run by lost Map Records. Superb island, music, food and ale
Wow 👌
