I paid 600 bucks for a Dell G5 with the same specs. The icing in the cake, I can easily overclock it to 1860 (1750 base in afterburner) as the GPU has a boost mode. I'm writing this review on my own Nitro 5, and i gotta say after you upgrade to 16gbs of ram, its Awesome
Can you help me with upgrading to 16GBS of ram? I can't play anything without more storage and I've never had to do this before. Nicolejw1988@gmail.com
@@nicolewatson9685 totally, there's like 12-14 screws on the bottom, then pop the bottom off, you'll see the ram slots
@@cjn083096 perfect I see them. I am trying to find ram for the nitro 5 but there are so many brands to choose from do you have any suggestions on which to buy..
Christopher Nussey I have 8gb of ram and I want to add 16gb to the second slot , is this possible ? Also if I wanted to remove the original 8gb and just add two 16gb would that work better if it’s possible ?
@@GuestAccount8080 just add one more 8gb ram, 32gb is not worth it even in a rtx 2080 ti setup!
Thank you. I've been on the fence on which gaming laptop I could get within my budget. This is the one. Sith red is my color. 😉
I have a gaming pc a lot of money spent on upgrading. But I’m in the army and going on deployments means obviously I can’t take my pc and the wife wants the Xbox at home. So this laptop is perfect plays the games I play at a solid 60-100 FPS, and would strongly recommend this over the i7 variation as it has a power ceiling and isn’t as powerful when stress tested.
Guys I guess buy this
I was looking to buy it earlier and u guys made it easy 4 me

Shop around, I've got one with the I7-9750 and you can get a 1660 Ti model for a little more.

I have a ryzen 5 3550H and the Rx 560x version and I love it. Got it for cheap and performed great so far
For Canadian viewers, the Nitro 5 is listed at $949.00 on Amazon.
It always sounds soooooo much worse to buy in Canada but you have to realize that our minimum wage is $15.00/hr. I can't quote minimums in the US but I dont think it's as high as $15.00/hr.
Aren't you Canadians getting unemployment stimulus bonus of some sort?
What mouse were you guys using for the tests? Great vid!
I got this for 599 at Best Buy last year, it isnt that price now. But I does range from 600 to 700. I use it more for school and business rather than gaming, but I do run a couple games on it and it handles it just fine.
As long as it plays Sims 4 then I'm good 🤙🏾

I recently bought a nitro 7, only two differences, it has a metal case and a six core i7. I am in love with my laptop, most gaming laptops in my country have insane prices and this has an amazing quality for its price.
How is it? In my country it comes with i5 with 9300h. I heard its got heating issues. How is it?
@@amoghbhurke9919 Heating is not very good, pretty close to the temperatures on the nitro 5 in this video since the GPU and GPU are really close in both I think. The only serious game I've played is Apex and at 1080 and high setting and temps on the CPU were getting up to 94°C but I lowered the settings a little and it was going around 67°C so just fine. That's the problem you get for the price besides the fingerprint problem hahaha. The nitro 7 is more pretty than the nitro 5, for me it was worth the money. If you have any other questions I'd be glad to help
@@juanfelipegarzon8281 Thank you Soo much for your enthusiasm. :) Actually I tried my hands on every youtube video on this laptop. But It seems many don't even know it exists. The thing is i am in dilemma between 2 systems
Differences being HP pavilion 15 gaming laptop with ryzen 5 3550h and Nitro 7 with i5 9500h and 2ssd slots.
Similarities being 1tb +256ssd, 8gb, Gtx1650 and international warranty.
As I haven't used nor seen anybody use amd laptops I cannot decide which one to buy.
Would love to hear your opinion on this. Thanks
@@juanfelipegarzon8281 Also The price difference between Hp and Nitro 7 being that the later is $50 higher priced
@@amoghbhurke9919 I actually was interested in the HP too, but the nitro 7 has like a lowkey gaming look, so if you want a more gaming look laptop the HP is a good option with lots of green. I also don't know how the ryzen 5 performs. Thermals are really important and there's not a lot of gameplays with the nitro 7 showing temps, but I suggest comparing those with the HP. When you make a decision I want to know what you went for.

I bought one on New Years Eve. I then took a train from Boston to NYC and played on it with no problems. Then I gamed on a plane and had no issues. Plugs everywhere. I then upgraded it with 8gb more ram and a 2tb ssd so now it’s a i5 9th GTX1650 16GB RAM with 120gb ssd and 2tb ssd.

Great video bro I’m a broke high school student in my junior year and I’m thinking of buying a gaming laptop because playing on console is getting a little boring plus I really wanted to play TF2 (Team Fortress 2) one of my favorite game but my older brother move out and took his pc so I’m stuck with my ps4. I was thinking of getting a job over the summer and wanted to see the things I could buy, one of them just so happens to be a gaming laptop because it takes less space and can easily be stored or should I just save for a pc? It takes a lot of space which is a down side to it. It definitely not cheap (don’t know if I should build one or just buy a brand) and I’m a hardcore gamer boy so I kinda just play video games on my free time. Pls respond and help me out lol.

I have a acer predator helios 300 and I dont like it at all. Main issue is thermal throttle. CPU temp went up to 95 to 100°C . You have to undervolt it after purchasing it. I mean wat is the point ? You have a great process and GPU which you can't even use to it's full potential. For nitrol series laptops 1st You need to check whether it has similar issue or not and proper cooling.
