Going to have to try popping my clutch for that traction tip! Love your videos. Keep standing, seems like it's the most versatile.
This is (not necessary but) usefull for any bike. I had a sv650 before and done it tons of times. Sometimes is usefull sometimes is plain fun 🙂. Even if you don't offroad, non paved paths on parking spots are common.

I have an Africa Twin and I have been trying to learn this also.
In our next video, we are going to have Michael try this on his Africa Twin. Should be the same concept but it’ll be interesting to see how different bikes handle the same maneuvers.
I crank the steering all the way left, lean the bike left, and put weight on your right foot peg, then apply gas. The more your bike is leaned, the easier it is to turn.

I'm glad to see these manouvers being tried on a V-Strom. I have the 650 and I'm struggling with just being able to tilt the bike with the bars locked to begin the turn let alone move it 😅 Hopefully I can get braver like you and practice this

You are nearly there, be aggressive and lean it hard over and snap the clutch out at the same time. The further you lean it the easier it breaks traction, otherwise you will hook up and straighten back out as you’re doing in the video.

Great video. I’ve recently purchased a V-Storm 1050XT and enjoying off-roading the big beast here in Western Australia.
Swapping the stock tyres for Heidenau K60 Scouts has made a world of difference to the bike’s off-road performance.
I’ve found your videos most inspiring and would love to hear your thoughts on the 1050XT, perhaps a review and comparison between it and the 1000 you own. Keep up the videos.

I think that the 1050XT is a great bike, even though Suzuki has now released the 1050 DE version with the 21" front wheel and added suspension travel. Honestly, both bikes will be only as capable as the rider. For the type of riding we normally do, they are okay. If I had to start over and pick between your 1050XT or my 1000, I would choose yours any day.
Been practicing this on my gsx-s 750 at the moment... 3 out of 10 times it goes perfect already:) noticed I dont need to sit on the seat because then it grips too much and also be quite aggressive with the throttle so it starts to slip.
Nice! Yeah I found that break the rear wheel traction as fast as possible is one of the keys.
It’s all about getting the lean angle as low as you can,and keep the revs high,the higher the revs the ‘safer’,it turns on the spot then.It’s mostly clutch control,make a habit of riding with a finger on both the clutch and the brake,I been riding dirt bikes for years and only started doing that the last few years,it’s second nature now.Also,this isn’t a pivot turn,they are done on the back wheel,mainly in extreme enduro…

@@1LiterADV here is a good lesson on ‘Spin Turns’ or Doughnuts… of course,it’s WAY easier to do on a lighter bike,like everything ! Ha,ha keep the vids coming,great stuff.Personally I love to see the road bikers transition to dirt,you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the zero traction epiphany …that WOAH !
