Have you come across the people of Cos Tube yet? Stellar examples include Bernadette Banner and Not Your Mama's History. One of the Canadian's of the group - Enchanted Rose - did a video series on making her own lace for the first time {for use in her late 1800's Worth gown). I'm sure she would love to do some sort of collaboration. Your work is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown
The black paper is a heavy drawing paper that artists use when sketching in reverse values. Black craft paper will work as well. The layer on top of the black is a matte-finish mylar artists film. The brand name that I typically use is "Dura-Lar"
Thank you very much for this video! Can I ask why you chose to put your design on black drawing paper (effectuating white on black) instead of black on white? Any advantage or special reason? Thanks again for a wonderful video!!!!
White lines on Black paper is easier on the eyes as well as the video camera. I have used dark lines on white paper and gotten many complaints that the white flares the lens and nothing can be seen. This works better.
Thanks so much for your reply and reasoning! I am working the punto in aria now. Almost done with my practice piece. Fingers crossed that when I remove it all is well!
Очень интересно и красиво. Благодарю Вас что делитесь своим творчеством.
I'm gonna give it a try. First time ever making lace. btw, your voice just gives me some much needed peace. Thank you very much

Yes, this gentleman should definitely be a part of the costube community!
Have just found your videos and website and appreciate your clear directions. What kind of card stock are you using?

I wouldn’t mind a longer version of the punching technique + threading (not in time lapse - that way I can understand the way you do it better)!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💐

Just an FYI to your viewers, paper crafting vellum works quite well to replace the dura-lar and is available at local craft stores.
