You guys were fairly accurate about my Dad (Dick York) and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and you painted him as a humanitarian later in life with his spirits high by helping those who are less fortunate. It is true that he made really good money while he was on the show but it was also true that he was a lousy businessman and trusted his lawyers to take care of his money witch they did for themselves. By the time I graduated high school in 1977 we were on welfare and my parents cleaned apartments to bring in some extra cash. Here’s A quote from my Dad about how he Felt about his life : I've been blessed. I have no complaints. I've been surrounded by people in radio, on stage and in motion pictures and television who love me. The things that have gone wrong have been simply physical things. "The world was kind to me. I never met anybody who I hate or who hated me. I want to be remembered laughing and encouraging everyone to be happy." ~ Dick York He was a really good dude and I miss him so much, Thank you for doing such a good job in describing him. Best Witches - Chris York
Chris, I am so glad to hear that everything they said was pretty much true. Your dad sounds like an amazing man. I'm sorry he went through all that pain. ❤️
Chris, your dad was my and my mom’s favorite Darrin on Bewitched. I’m glad you were blessed with a great dad like Dick York and, for the record, I never believed the negative stories said about him. The positive stories will always stick to my heart. God bless you and your family always. ♥️🌹⭐️ May Dick York’s star continue to shine always by his great example and legacy. ✨
Loved his book, “the seesaw girl and me”. Always a big fan. Brought many so much joy. His Twilight Zone episodes were the best. Inherit the Wind a classic. Brewster boy and the classic Coronet instructional films. He was just a good honest soul.
Hi there! i'm the person who runs Daily Laurel Canyon and i just wanted to say thank you for the shout out, i really appreciate it! A fan of your podcast let me know that you guys mentioned my account and i had to come and see for myself, and i have to say that your content is right up my alley :) I'll definitely be checking out some episodes! again, thanks so much for the mention, it really means a lot to me ❤
I've never been a fan of podcasts, but I've binge watched the both of you for about 3 days now! Just great! I love love LOVE when you laugh at the Hate Mail! Those people are pissed because they quite don't understand what asses they really are! 😂 You make, Death, so informative and not so scary. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
LOVE the longer podcasts!!! And your voices are so good not annoying like other podcasters. And the opening music… love it!!!!!! Love your stories and your expertise on all subject matters. More podcasts please. Thank you guys!!!!
There a scene in "They came to Cordura" where 5 other soldiers (including York) are lifting up the hand push cart to the railroad tracks. I heard another story (told by Dick York in an interview) that while he was holding one corner of the cart, he was suddenly caught off guard when someone let go of their hold of the cart and quickly added much more weight to Dick York's corner. That substantial amount of weight at that one time that he was not ready for, did all the damage. I'm pretty sure that scene is in the film.
Hi,I have just found you on RUclips, and what a fabulous find.i have really had a lovely afternoon listening to you. I have learnt a lot listening to the show, thankyou.im off to find more of your fab work 😊 im in the uk by the way so dont know everyone you talked about ,but loved all the conections,I did watch Bewhitched when i was about 6-7 years old.....a long time ago😅
This episode is, quite possibly, my absolute fave from a long list of truly enjoyable uploads. The fly-on-the-wall effect is so bang on here and, the various times you went on tangents (even during the introduction/preamble/random banter right off the hop. The "mailbag" section was PURE GOLD and, from that moment onward, you served up significantly detailed and respectful tributes to the incredible team behind and, the storied cast of/brilliantly assembled selection of secondary actors and, memorable guest stars with impressive and lengthy Filmographies. stellar work on Broadway and, the accompanying lofty levels of significance and mass acceptance. Toss everything in to a fire pit, pull up a chair, prepare your chosen beverage, edible, snack, meal or whatever floats your boat, and prepare yourself for muscho laughs and intel (including some sweeeet tangents) and, there's even a Mary Woronov meeting!!! WHOA! I almost inhaled my glass of water during the entire "short drama arc" about the DOORKNOBS. Cheers
Glad you mentioned the Roseanne episode, right before closing credits, the family was watching Bewitched and Roseanne was commenting how stupid do they think we are to not notice two different Darren’s while both Beckys were sitting on the couch as well…..take care…Dave in Detroit
Hey Guys! Great Podcast! On the Roseanne reference. At the end Sarah Chalks first episode replacing Becky, the cast was sitting around the TV. You could hear the theme to Bewitched playing in the background. Roseanne makes the Comment " I cant believe they replaced that Darrin" to which Jackie replies.. "Well it was a hit show, they knew they could get away with it". Then Sarah says, "Well, I like the SECOND Darrin MUCH better!", and smiles as the entire cast looks at her, as the credits roll. Just thought you would like the refresher.
The detectives on The Wonderland Murders, Tom Lange and Philip Vannatter were later on the O.J. case. The actual crime scene video ( I think recorded by one of them ) is included as a DVD extra on the Val Kilmer movie Wonderland.
Great podcast. I really enjoy all the info you impart. I’m a big Bewitched fan. I start most days with a cup of coffee and two streaming episodes of the show. My mom looked exactly like Elizabeth Montgomery. My friends always told me that when I was a kid, and they would come over to my house. Same hair style and clothes, and she was a busy mom and homemaker in the 60s and 70s. Also, Mary Woronov was great in the film Nomads, with Pierce Brosnan.
Such a shame Scott is not doing his actual tours and longer. My dream was visiting LA some day and going on that tour. Anybody else doing that sort of thing? I have never been to LA and have a deep fascination with the city and the famous crime and deaths that occurred there. The stories behind it. In any event I love the channel.
I'm so excited!!! Now I've got my bed time planned. It's cold and raining in OK. Nice to see both you guys again. You look great, both of you. Why do you seem to get younger and better and I just age over night?!? Lol. Stay safe and God bless you both. Thanks for the pod cast.🤗❤️🙏
I have great footage of Kasey, Sandy (Gould) and Bernard at the house the day Tim Allen blew it up... we put an entire show together out of that footage... it was an amazing day. Sandy was yelling "Abner" in front of the house they used for her (the Partridge Family home)...
The Sowden house is my favorite home in LA. Every time I visit I have to pass by and gawk. I'd LOVE to get inside. I wouldn't break in...I GUESS...but, yea.
Lockerbie happened in 1988. I was 2 and it was right before Christmas 🎄. Reading about that act of terror years later it was sad as many bodies lay in view of neighbourhoods. Very sad! Alice Ghostley also played a witch on the telenovela Passions along with Bernard Fox.
A friend of mine’s close friend was a steward on that fateful flight ✈️ in 1988. We were visiting my friend in Paris France in 1997 and she was still crying over losing him as if it had happened yesterday. I’m glad we were there to provide some comfort for her. Poor David White (Larry Tate)❤️🙏🏻
I heard they were going to do the Bewitched movie and halfway through Jim Carrey would replace Will Farrell. Like how Darren was replaced on the sitcom.
Loved listening to this podcast. I only found out about Bewitched when my daughter was a baby and I used to breastfeed her in bed. That was 1996, and I only watched the ones with Dick York in. I did see five minutes with Dick Sergeant but had to turn it off. It brings back lovely memories if I hear the Bewitched music. Marion Lorne reminded me of my Grannie so much, she came across as a lovely woman, so did Agnes Moorehead
MAurice didnt play a warlock in Rosemary's baby he played Rosemary's friend who Told her the history of the building and the witches and was killed by them. Hutch
RIP all the wonderful actors on Bewitched 🕊️ I loved the show but have never seen all the episodes which can hopefully one day , something about the last seasons never had time to sit down and catch them.Remember how Andora always put her son in law down by not remembering his name ? My parent played this thing up with my husband , to be ignorant calling my husband Derwood, he nor the 3 grandsons didn’t get the connection because they didn’t watch Bewitched enough to ever” get it”. My dad even sent me my last birthday card before he died still using my maiden name. I had then been married 35 years, actually longer than my own parents. Sad when parents never get over the fact, they couldn’t pick who their children choose to marry , & get even more pissed off when the son in out to not be a loser. 😂😂 They best way to treat those who put you down , is to get a good education, work hard and live well ,you will out shine everyone with love & happiness in your heart. Just be a good person, jealousy is a heavy burden to carry in your heart.
i see the picture in the background that was used in the episode where larry tate thought that darrin was a great painter and had him paint a portrait of louise. However endora casts a spell on darrin and the portrait ended like that.
@34:24 I'll give you that the mid-20th century stars were wild about their drinking and smoking. But then again...look how many lived into their 90s and were still thriving to the end. For every Clark Gable, there was an Olivia DeHavilland. I just think it's the person, not the era.

Chris, I am so glad to hear that everything they said was pretty much true. Your dad sounds like an amazing man. I'm sorry he went through all that pain. ❤️
God bless. The scene where Robert Blake permanently injured his back is in that Our Gang ep for all to see. Shame on the companies.
Chris, your dad was my and my mom’s favorite Darrin on Bewitched. I’m glad you were blessed with a great dad like Dick York and, for the record, I never believed the negative stories said about him. You father was on the radio he was huge,, Australia

Hi there! Welcome and thank you too! Love what you do.
Scott and Mike.
So damn happy to see you guys back. You have been terribly missed. Love you guys.
Thank you 😊

Great coverage of the Bewitched cast guys. The two hours went faster than I thought they would. Thanks for keeping it real. ❤️🙏🏻
LOVE the longer podcasts!!! And your voices are so good not annoying like other podcasters. And the opening music… love it!!!!!! Love your stories and your expertise on all subject matters. More podcasts please. Thank you guys!!!!
I heard that the 1st Glaus Kravitz worked right up to the day she died and no one on set knew she had cancer. ❤
Incredible podcast from the first ep. No one does it like you guys. Keep up the stellar work !🖤
This is the first time watching this podcast. Thank you. Information that I never heard before. I will look forward to future podcasts.
I’m jealous! Now you have so many to binge watch. I’m always waiting for the next one to come out.
Montgomery's former estate grounds is now Wonder Lake State Park in Patterson, N.Y. (the home of "Bewitched"). Liz's beautiful farmhouse still stands.
The Bewitched house can be seen regularly across the street from the Heck family house on The Middle.

Scott, great seeing you. The background stories are so interesting, I could listen to them all day
Its great to hear from you guys again! With all the crap going on in the world, this is a nice surprise!
Great show! i love you two and Bewitched was my childhood fave program. Agnes Moorehead is fantastic. Lovedher in Dark Passage. Excellent movie
Too bad Agnes Moorehed is gone. I've seen her grave+ on tv) always liked her.

Really enjoyed thank you guys. I was born 1961 Australia and grew up watching Bewitched and all those great tv shows.
Glad you mentioned the Roseanne episode, right before closing credits, the family was watching Bewitched and Roseanne was commenting how stupid do they think we are to not notice two different Darren’s while both Beckys were sitting on the couch as well…..take care…Dave in Detroit
Big thumbs up for live watch "Ghost and Mr Chicken" LOVE that movie!! 😋
One of my favorites
Lord knows why I did not find your podcast sooner. This is terrific. I love old Hollywood and everything that once was. ❤🖤👿❤
Excellent episode. I agree with Scott about The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, that needs to be your live watch!
Loving loving every dearly departed -dearly.
😊
Aunt Clara had a doorknob collection on the show, which was actually her real personal collection.
What a woman, like Auntie Mame, she lived life to the fullest.

My favorite show growing up.
Now that you've done Bewitched, I hope you'll consider doing a podcast on I Dream Of Jeannie. I'd love to hear your discussions on that show!
Scott sounds like Jeff Goldblum. Interesting, intelligent, and captivating. .
Kasey Rogers was also in "Strangers on a Train" she went by the name was Laura Elliott then. She played Farley Granger's wife.
Supposedly, Alice Ghostly had been friends with Alice Pierce, which is the reason that she didn't want to "replace" her as Mrs. Kravitz.
Nobody was better at playing a dingbat than Alice Ghostly....
That was fantastic! TFS! I would love to see you guys do a podcast on the Playboy mansion & all the new (nasty) info being exposed. Xox
I lived next door to Abigail Folger in downtown Palo Alto apartment building. She is the first niece of deceased Abigail Folger and namesake.
So excited when I saw this notification! ❤
Fun ride...
Thank you!
Thank you! New subscriber appreciate your videos in this case taking me back to my childhood. 🥰
Mold-A-Rama > Brookfield Zoo > Great memories ! The Salem episodes were always my favorites.
THE GHOST AND MR CHICKEN?!! OH HELL YEAH!
And they even used Bon Ami!
I love this, not just for the Bewitched info, but because of ALL OF THE OTHER STUFF you guys hit before it.
Loved it. Loved that show! Those special affects blew my young mind! I admit though that her mother scared the hell out of me!
Definitely the Ghost and Mr. Chicken for Halloween!!!
Just what I needed! Thanks Y'all!
I have always loved Bewitched. Part of my email is I love Bewitched, and has been for over 15 years.
Mike's blues really match his Fairfax hat so beautifully
I have great footage of Kasey, Sandy (Gould) and Bernard at the house the day Tim Allen blew it up... we put an entire show together out of that footage... it was an amazing day. Sandy was yelling "Abner" in front of the house they used for her (the Partridge Family home)...
Paul Lynde was the driving instructor on The Munsters.
Another great episode, guys! Loved the Mary Woronov photo, Scott. Glad you got to meet her and buy one of her paintings.
Once again I smashed the 👍🏼 and I’m commenting to appease the algorithm gods.

Love this show. What happened to Rita Shaw....Hagatha? She was also in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.
She died of emphysema in 1982, at 69. 😢
She was also brilliant in two Andy Griffith episodes.

Thanks, I was looking in the comments to see what that picture was.
I still own the 2 original paintings from the series...
i love ghost and mr chicken too. reta shaw, vic mizzy music, awesome
this room smells like paul lynde.
@34:24 I'll give you that the mid-20th century stars were wild about their drinking and smoking. But then again...look how many lived into their 90s and were still thriving to the end. For every Clark Gable, there was an Olivia DeHavilland. I just think it's the person, not the era.
Are you going to going to open the tours again
