This song is like surfing on a river of blood. Children kicked so much ass when I saw them with The Sword in L.A. a few years ago. I've been a fan ever since. Sucks if they aren't still rocking out.
Hard Times actually has 6 songs, Death Tribe was like its own EP or something. Funny story though, the unit that hooks up my iPod to my car stereo died during Nuclear Bummer while I was driving down the highway. Sucks that this band isn't together anymore they made such awesome music.
"Death Tribe" is the 2nd bonus song at the end of my copy of Hard Times... with one other filler track before it... I had meant that although it's 8 tracks... 6 of them are actual songs. Also, 6 songs and 2 filler tracks is barely an album in my opinion. Basically.. I'm an asshole. :] Speaking of being an asshole... for prog/tech thrash awesomeness, Vektor blew this band outta the water in '09 and continues to do so today.
But it's 41 minutes long. 41 is enough for an album. Reign in Blood is only 29 minutes long, some are even shorter. Vektor's style is different, it's more hectic and the songs have clear changes between different sections(I have no idea how to phrase that properly). Children are more relaxed and their songs tend to develop from point a to point b without sudden changes, at least more so than Vektor's. IMO both styles have their strengths and weaknesses, Vektor's high points are more intense but their songs sometimes come off a bit disjointed.
@takingbacksados I think so, but it's really hard to find info about them online. Even the RUclips artist page is ironically wrong, starting with "Not to be confused with several other acts also of the same name..." they go on to profile the wrong fucking band.
No they arent playing anymore. Jonny is now in Family Band, who sound nothing like this, but still pretty good. As for everyone else from this band, I think the drummer is still in Early Man...
Different yes, completely different? No. They're both progressive-leaning thrash bands from this decade... there's a lot of ground to compare them on. Also, Vektor are better songwriters and musicians regardless of what genre, sub-genre or stylistic differences you want to make. You can also look at the fact that so far, Children have roughly 6 metal songs out in the world, and Vektor have over 17... so they've done more for proving how many quality songs they're capable of writing as well.
It doesn't really matter... just saying. It's a dick move to compare the two bands in the first place... but if you bother to do so, Vektor wins every time.

LordJeebusCripes I saw them there too! Life changing!
Damn, I heard this a few years back and loved it. Glad to see it on youtube. Thanks for the upload.
5 others besides this one. The album for this is called "Hard Times Hangin at the End of the World". It rules.

Hi! I've been trying to get some information of the bonus track in this amazing album. Do you have the vinyl or the cd version? Thanks :)

Love this Band! Fuck yea Jonny Rad!
Holy shit this is awesome. They make me proud to be a New Yorker.

@johnnyscifi Oh. But isn't the band based out of NY?
Do you know where to download it?
Are these guys still playing?
You can't really compare Vektor and these guys, they're completely different styles.
