This towering mechanoid has been heavily modified to represent the new technomessiah's augmented form, and has been laying waste to countless countries who dare to oppose his rule, with the rest of the area encompassing it effectively a maintenance chamber for when it returns.
The vocal samples aren't necessarily out of place, given what the Saturn 3D Blast boss themes were like. And as before, loving the continued integration of the 16-bit Act 1 and Act 2 themes.
BF: Arc welders spark rapidly in succession, steam valves hiss loudly, robot workers screw in nuts & bolts, and computers click & hum along as Badniks are constructed at breakneck speeds. Sitting at the top, pulling the strings of this facility is Robotnik; Much like a puppetmaster he can see everything going on here and his voice can be heard throughout every inch of the facility. One would think Robotnik's is untouchable all the way up in his Ivory Tower, lucky for us though Sonic doesn't got any strings on him and he's forklift certified to boot. So let's get the lead out and shut down this facility for violating more than just O.S.H.A. safety violations.
This is definitely one of your best Bad Future Remixes yet! This one sounds so cold and unforgiving, yet there's still a desperate feeling of hope and determination especially around the 1:55 mark.
This turned out better than I expected. Great job dude. Someone put these into fan level mods for the good, past and bad future versions of the levels he’s remixing
Now a terrifying mobile fortress, the Panic Puppet flies above the destroyed Flicky Island in a dark thunderstorm, ready to spread its destruction to the rest of the world. All the Flickies have been turned into vicious Badniks. Sonic had better get back to the past fast before the mechanized birds swarm him!
The present was already dark, so this track doesn’t change much other than have the harsh instrumentation amplified as a reminder that Panic Puppet has only gotten even worse from there.
After listening to the Good Future, I realized that this is the only Panic Puppet timeline where the piano is completely absent. Strangely enough, the Genesis Act 1 influence is still present, giving this track a more hopeful feeling than needed, especially for an Eggman-themed level. The demotivating robotic voice and theatrical laughs are a start, but it feels like they're here to fill in a void, considering the only aspects that really change from the Present track are harsher instruments and faster tempo. That might be the point, but as much as I would love some more oomph added to this, the subtlety works well enough in this level's context.
Bad Future - Panic Puppet has now become a massive disused industrial district where lethal weapons and upgraded Badniks are being produced in vast quantities at full steam. The gas pipes that run through several parts of the level have sprung a few leaks, making them into flamethrower-like obstacles. In the background, there are skyscrapers which are hazed a bit by the smoggy sky. The Dr. Eggman tower is rebuilt and upgraded into a more robotic variant, complete with glowing and blinking red eyes. Sonic would have to get through this "No Hedgehog Zone" to face that evil genius!

Compared to MM Bad Future, this still sounds like there's hope in it. Like this is actually your last chance. If you mess up here, it's over. But it does sound too similar to present. Bad Futures are supposed to have sections from the present version just totally gone right? Or completely changed. I think it could be a little more despairing.
I think it’s the “3DB Saturn leitmotif” part that does it. Maybe should’ve been cut from BF. Though I don’t necessarily mind it, reminds me of MM BF US, my favorite official BF, specifically for that reason.
I wonder if you will ever make a ruined present concept remix of a level cause in the original Sonic 2 Time Travel concept ruined present levels were going to be a thing

The composition remains largely the same, just with a different pitch. Don't take it personally, but I am somewhat disappointed. It still sounds hopeful... Unlike say, PPZ bf, which -- twists the happy song to let you know you fucked up. Or hell, Quartz quadrant bf US -- which despite being nearly identical to the GF, changes the notes enough to go from utopian to dystopian. Another good example is what you did with Green hill's bad future, where you let the melody build up, then collapse on purpose. I wish I could elaborate properly on it as well as a certain someone who does music theory, but sadly if there's one thing I suck at, is descriptions. Keep it up tho, I'm still watching you 'till the end.
@@111riffi Are you familiar with the Saturn soundtrack of Sonic 3D Blast? The difference between my Present and Bad Future versions is basically the difference between Saturn Act 1 and Act 2. Act 2 is not only in a higher key, but significantly faster than Act 1, plus I find the instrumentation quite a bit more harsh and mostly occupied a lower register, which makes it sound a fair bit darker. Personally, I thought Saturn Act 2 already sounded plenty dark and intense for a Bad Future. Maybe I could have done a little more to differentiate this version from the Present, but I stand by it

This said? You do have a point, but I still think it's not pronounced enough to be a bad future. Akin to death egg act 1's and 2 in the megadrive, which are different enough for an act 2, but not quite for a bf, not without a lil. push...
This sounds so evil, those shards of hope work the same way as Metallic Madness US - it makes you THINK there's hope, then crashes you to the reality that the world is doomed, and the best you can do is take Eggman down with it.

Superstars is, for my money, the most inconsistent soundtrack in all of Sonic. It goes from pretty good in one stage to Sonic 4 parody in the next. At least when there were several composers in Sonic 3, they still used the same hardware. Golden Capitol and Lagoon City sound like they’re from different decades!

Idk if this was intentional but I like the idea of the robotic vocal samples being a mass announcement to all of Eggman's bases in the bad future
