Ratios are a comparison of two things, it is important to remember that whatever comes first is your numerator and 2nd is your denominator. Understanding equivalent fractions will also help with finding equivalent ratios. You're welcome!
you're correct that ratios are a comparison of two things however it is a misconception to convert ratio directly to fractions as fractions are a comparison on a part to the whole. so a ration of 4 apples to 5 bananas becomes 4/9, that is 4 of 9 (total) pieces of fruit are apples
