Make a video on how to understand this video.
Really? It was incredibly straightforward
Lol
I thought it was just me who felt that way. I still dont know how to calculate gear ratio.
@@W3llness_Warrior sames 😂
Here. Let me dumb it down. Big gear spin slower than smaller gear.
Circumference formula is C=2×pi×r. C meas Circuference, pi is 3.14159265359, and r is the radius (half of the diameter of the circle, or the distance measured from the center point of the circle to the edge).
If the circumference of circle one is 8 inches, millimeters, centimeters, fetlet, miles, kilometers, whatever measurement, and circle two has a circumference of 1 inches, millimeters, centimeters, fetlet, miles, kilometers, whatever. Then it has a gear ratio of 8:1. This means that circle two will spin 8 times while circle one spins 1 time. Simple. Gear ratios on motorcycles are a little backwards because of extremely high rotations per minute on the crankshaft. If you were to flip it around, you would end up with some pretty crazy results. Maybe even hurting yourself by breaking metal parts and giving yourself shrapnel. So, it is best to pay attention in physics before engineering things with gears and rotating parts.
Fun fact, you dont need to find the circumference to find the gear ratio, just the radius or diameter. So a D=5 and a D:10 have a 2:1 ratio just as a C=5pi and a C=10pi also have a 2:1 gear ratio
what about the teeth? I thought teeth played a role in the calculation?
@@grantscott1686 well it is simple, if a gear with a diameter of 9in has 36 gears meaning for every 1 inch in diameter there are 4 teeth or more precisely 0.785 inches of circumference per gear (1/0.785 gears per inch) and you want a 3:1 gear ratio you downsize the circumference or diameter by 3, both of which will make the diameter 3 inches and downsize the gears by 3 making it 12 gears for 3 inches in diameter you still have the same gear ratio of circ/gears which is still.785 inches per gear
@@jhg8464 thanks for making it more complex
@@reginaldcampos5762 I didnt make it more complex i explained why the teeth didn't matter as long as the ratio is the same

Great Info.. in short span
Thanks!
Idk if I'm tired or just stupider from my years of not being in school. I feel like I would have understood this so much better in my younger years.
Its proven that a person can't really concentrate more than 25 minutes straight in one sitting and multitasking temporarily and even permanently lowers IQ. One class lasts about 45 minutes and you jump from topic to topic while switching classes throughout the day = multitasking / jumping from one activity to another. Proof that school actually makes you dumber.
@@jaanisk606 that sounds very much like pseudoscience but for whatever reason I'm inclined to believe you
@@563spaceman Both the 25 minutes of concentration and multitasking = bad are very much considered to be true and proven and easily searchable. Common estimates for sustained attention to a freely chosen task range from about 5 minutes for a two-year-old child, to a maximum of around 20 minutes in older children and adults.| Several scientific studies around the world have concluded the brain doesn't switch tasks like an expert juggler. Quite the opposite. It can reduce your IQ by as much as 10 points, cause mental blanks and reduce your productivity by 40 per cent.
That's interesting, definitely gonna have to do some research on it myself but thanks for the insight
@@jaanisk606 Love how you started your factless nonsense by "it's proven".
Switching classes throughout the day is not multitasking and if you think that school is worse for your brain than a debilitating 9 to 5 job that mean you didn't go there enough.
SOOOO underrated, this is the first video I've seen from you and I'm already very impressed by how much info and effort you put into these. top notch! THANKS!
Thank you!!!🙌🙏
Awesome 👍 short and informative, always wondered about it, but never really searched it up 😂.
so what is the power output of a wind up grandfather clock?
At the beginning of the video were the circles spinning at the same speed?
Thank you I finally understood it!
Great teaching, thank you!!
He knew what he was doing with that 8 in circle
Thank you
You’re changing my C into an A rn. Thank you so muchhhhh
This simple video is all you need to understand how transmissions work
Did not learn about calculating gear ratios.
Same
Wouldn't the first ratio be 1:8 instead of 8:1 since the input gear is the larger one?
it is mentioned that circle 1 is 8 times as big of circle 2(circumference). Another way of saying 8:1 gear ratio would be that circle 1 has the potential to move circle 2 eight times in one rotation.
If you supposed it was 1:8, one rotation of circle 1 would have the potential of moving second gear 0.125 times.
one that is baffling me right now is Tracks. Say a person has a 4 or more wheeled vehicle. . With nothing else changed but making space for it..... if you wrap a rubber track around all the wheels on each side so now it looks like a tank or skid steer..... have you changed the final gear ratio? If so are you now moving slower or faster. Im guessing slower with its normal tires now acting like sun gears to an outer gear ring (the track)
basically: when the small spins the big it’s torque but low speed, when the big spins the small, it is high speed and low torque
Someone's bought a subscription to a stock video site! Really interesting vid though
Well, what people often fail to realize it's that the gear wars were never really shot the gears

2:17 is an impeller is not a gear mesh, lol way of from gear concept

idk how much is an inch...
You sound like the pacer test guy 🤨
Bro are you "life noggin"? You sound just like him!
Gears basically adapt input power into precise output movement

this is like luck meeting opportunity, for you knowing this at this stage of life. you can start building your success early. I would advice you work with Anmol Singh.
much thanks to Anmol Singh, I got access to the government Grants.

Traders usually spend tons of time tinkering with indicators, parameters, and trading rules without giving much thought to how long they might work. much thanks to Anmol Singh.
one essence I trade and invest with Anmol Singh, is he doesn't have trouble converting registered users to paying investors.

I left the video at "Inches"

You do realize that a lot of metric countries citizens hate the metric system for everyday use? That system is just plain hard to visualize. Inches is much more reliably visual because it is about the size of a thumb.
@@reginaldcampos5762 I have never met anyone under the age of 40 who says that.

I'm so happy with everything I've, trading and investing with Anmol Singh. he's a master ready to share knowledge and understanding of how the financial markets and various securities operate. He's a good man, very much appreciated
