Yessss!!! Another Georgia Gleaner video! So excited!! And I just saw some bull thistle on my land yesterday. So pumped to learn it’s uses. (Me “liking” the video before even watching it because I know it is going to be good!)
Bull thistles are GREAT for drawing in pollinators! And, unlike other flowers, the thorns will keep cats and other animals away from damaging them. Hell, they're tough, they grow anywhere, and the bees adore them. Sign me up!
While I appreciate your efforts I have been digging them out of my pasture for weeks. It sounds like you have a lot of book knowledge but not experience? Be safe
That looks like some other type of thistle to me. Bull thistle has more spines on the lobes. Several look alike species. In fact, I'd kinda recommend taking the video down since you're misidentifying a plant that you're teaching about, including food and medicine. That thistle may be perfectly fine - I don't know much about thistles. But it's not bull thistle.

What I’m finding is classified as cirsium horridulum, is it the same?
You can eat the pedals they are sweet! Got to get the pedals fresh! Pluck the purple pedal and suck on it! You have to get to the pedals deep root!
