We took the RV owners course from the NRVTA and it has paid for itself more than once. Makes RV life much better since you know how to remedy a multitude of problems!❤
Thank you Winnebago for coming with accessibility for people who need to have the excess to get into an Rv. Great idea to help with getting the hose on and off the hook up.
Arthritis is coming for all of us…in hands & wrists, knees, etc. Given the traditional retiree target for the RV industry, I am surprised they’ve left this potential competitive advantage on the table.
I'd love to continue the accessibility topic. 'Aging in Place' is a major residential topic. Many disabled folk have impacted my life so it's an ongoing subject.
Sewer hose connection solution: I think there are two issues, the plastic and the rubber seal. I took sand paper and smooth up the round pins on the hoses. It helped a little. Then I used a dry lubricant on the pins and the rubber seal. Much easier yet still secure.
I agree always check your tires. Make sure too that your hose is put away. And never put your hose that is dirty on a picnic table. Someone I know who lives in a park they told me there’s people who do that.
😂 Class C is a rolling earth quack too! The difference is you get to listen to it live and try to fix while rolling. The trailer you get the arrival surprise party 🎉
I will be going full-time in 12 - 18 months and have a gimpy left hand. I only have feeling in my thumb and index finger. It never occurred to me that I might struggle removing the sewer hose. I will have to think through some alternative solutions. I am thinking about investing in a composting toilet, but obviously would still need a hose for my grey tank. Good to know this could be an issue from time to time. Happy and Safe Travels
'Go slow' is also great advice for all of life life, including parenting and homeschooling! It definitely goes hand-in-hand with experience gifts. Both use intentionality to create memorable moments rather than just checking a box.
Has it been raining and damp back home? It can be the dampness. Abby- great story. Pass the Puffs. Call Mom. OMG TMobile is nuts. If they do that to us, their Modem will be flying back to them in a nanosecond. Hello Starlink.
It’s spring, a generally wet time in many places so that is def a possibility. Let us know if you hear anything from TMobile. We aren’t customers but would be interested to know how they handle this with all who are and how quickly. Be well! -Abby
I was hoping that you would have a discount for disabled veterans for the Oct event as the $225 is a bit steep. It may prevent a few disabled vets from being able to attend. I appreciate this channel so much. Always supportive and educational. Best always!
I’m sorry we can’t offer any further discount than what the ticket price already is. We have priced it at a point that has us in the red because we wanted to be able to offer nightly meals, activities and more. We make no money on this event. We realize this isn’t possible for everyone and so we hope to be able to balance it with free content here and across social media, along with future hang outs. Thank you for your comment and for the kind words. We send our best to you always! -A&J
Best advice I can suggest is keeping your money until the industry puts a little more effort into building something worth the prices they want for these things.
I like the idea of making it more easy for rvers to get the hose off easy instead of it being difficult. I agree with you on the disabled that that should make more handicapped Rvs. Wheel chair excessible.
Excellent idea regarding having a workshop to help us all gain greater insight into the ways in which we could improve the RV experience for our entire community. Thank you!
I used WD-40, a flathead screw driver and a rubber mallet to remove the cover and the hose. This made it easier to attach and detach to dump. after struggling, I went with a macerater.
Abby seemed to really like the catchy phrases. I've been thinking of a bumper sticker: "Slow is more fun!" or "The Doctor says, The Mechanic says, The Cop says, Slow down!"
Dunesport builds custom trailers and ive seen them build trailers for those with disabilities - ramps, wider doors, tables with enough wheelchair space under them, etc. just a fyi. Cheers!
@@RVMilesPodcast Aw! Sorry you lost a friend. And glad I was able to help in your time of need. Words of encouragement are the best to help. I love you Abby! I’m always going to be around. 🤗🥰🩷💙❤️🩵💚❤️💜
🙌 Wow! 😂 We just got back from a Florida trip & caught up with e317!! Thank you for including my comment about chalking BEFORE unhooking. 💁♂️ It was an actual piece of advice I gleaned very early in our journey. Another amazing episode you guys!! Safe travels J - I am so overdue for a Pacific NW visit.
You def need to get to the PNW and we need to get back and spend a lot more time than we did! Thanks for being apart of 317, see ya on the next one! 🎉🎉🎉
My fresh tank for this episode: The fight that breaks out between Jason and Abby over the cause of their mildewy mattress. LOL My black tank for this episode: Having to listen to Abby talk about some rando musician with 200 Spotify listens a month. FFWD through that...
Drive it like you like it, not like you stole it. Fifty eight is great! You and your equipment will last a lot longer and out comes will be better when bad things happen. You will arrive more relaxed. Stop at least every two hours. Do a walk around doing a visual as well as touch and feel bearings and tires. Often you will notice a bearing or tire running a little warmer than the others. It might be a low tire or one brake being tighter than the others. Most important being...space is your friend! Never never follow closely, just stay away from others.
If I was get an internet service it would be Starlink. Not T-Mobile. Too much money for their internet. Glad you spotted the mold. Sorry it was Bexy. Cool Jack got to go talk to the band you went to see.
It should have been in the email you received right after registering. I know others have called, so I’ll forward that along to you. Sorry for the glitch!! -A
Slow is Pro is great advice. Almost all of our incidences have occurred when we were in a hurry. For us, bad weather causes us to get hurried and that is when most of our incidences occur. One comment on the video quality, i am not a fan of the blurred background. It plays tricks with my eyes. I ended up just listing to the RUclips video and not watching.
We aren’t either and it’s not permanent. The background isn’t something that will continue. We’ll share the full details next week, but short story is this episode turned into a 2 day editing process for Jason and the blurred background saved us from having to trash hours of filming. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
We have a grandson who is 17 and in a wheelchair. It's been quite a few years that he could join us in our motorhome, which is very sad. There may be motorhomes that would be possible to figure out a way to get him inside, but as a rule it's just not possible.
One trick if you have trouble gripping: Buy a good pair of rubber kitchen or cleaning gloves. Cover the palm and fingers with spray-on cement or plain rubber cement. Allow to dry until tacky. Now sprinkle it with clean sandbox or masonry sand, and type of clean dry sand except salty beach sand. Allow to dry overnight. Coat again a second time if you'd like. Once it is dry, these gloves will give you an incredible grasp on oil filters, dump hoses, water filters, all sorts of things. Cheap and effective.
That’s so cool for Jack to get to talk to the band after the concert. That helps Jack for sure for his career.

That’s fantastic!
Get some hypervent and cut it to size for under any bed that is over cold areas. Works great to prevent condensation and mildew.
Good job. YES, the sewer hose can be the B word. A am older and my hands don’t work like they use to. I do use the wrench on the sewer hose.

Agriculture uses a two cam-over attachment, where you hook and then push or pull, not requiring a twist motion.

Cool story Abby ❤
The boys and I were talking about it again today. From start to finish it made such an impression on them…and me too!

I do love a good catchy phrase! -A

Thank you, Sherri! It has been a time of grief for me as I lost a friend this week and your kind words here have lifted my spirits. 💔

I liked the AJR story!
I am small in stature. I use a very large channel lock to get my sewer hose off the RV. it works pretty well.
Add an index please
Thank you for bring up handicap. Most companies don’t think about making things better.
Hahaha, West Coast distance driving... 45 minutes is a dream we all want!
Right?! If the drive is under one podcast episode, I consider it a short jaunt. Lol. -A

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Do your research and rent before deciding to buy. Buy used and get an RV Inspection.
How is the Verizon home internet in terms of reliability?

Great advice!
With the price of fuel or gas now, slow is smart ! And please don't camp in the passing lane!
There was a RUclips survey, but only an Instagram survey was used for video?🤔
If I was get an internet service it would be Starlink. Not T-Mobile. Too much money for their internet. Glad you spotted the mold. Sorry it was Bexy. Cool Jack got to go talk to the band you went to see.
We registered for Homecoming but have still not received information on booking campsites. Is that coming soon?

Oh this breaks my heart. I wish this wasn’t the case and that more RVs had an accessibility option. Thank you for sharing. -A
have you looked at toyhaulers with a ramp door? some models could be suited. Good luck!
@@pierredaigneault5615 we haven't looked at them due to their length. That's a great idea though.
Slow is pro, fast is expensive.
Truth.
The best advice I ever got: "Don't buy an RV! Get a dog instead."
lol!
Please don't blur the background anymore. Idk. It just doesn't look right. On the other hand, good channel and keep up the excellent content.
It's a long story I'll tell next week - but there's a reason for it! -J
The best advice I’ve ever gotten is: Don’t pee into the wind
Solid piece of advice.
