It kind of makes sense that the whole construction exploded after only 13 minutes of fire when you see all that building material and plastic in the video. It was a death trap. Lucky it happened now, before it had opened and it was filled with people.
Well, plastic slides and acetylene/whatever gas canisters used for welding, don't really mix together, either... And I assume that's what caused the explosions, since there was still work being done... :(
it couldn't have happened because they were going to check the oceana next week and since it was during working hours one of the workers made a mistake
@susan9043 Fire supression, spinklers and fire doors were almost gauranteed not to be operational when this happend, or it would would not have ended with total destruction. But as long as work is being done, these systems are usually not in use and also not required.

After the fire and explosions destroyed the part-outdoor rides, the flames went thru the entire building and even the wall on the opposite side of the arch is all bent and collapsed from the heat... That would be a total write off I'm afraid... 4 years of work and 110 million € lost in one day... :(

Firefighters said that they saved parts of it, (change rooms, cafeteria, technical areas, etc) and that it is mainly the main water features that needs to be redone.

Liseberg Oceana är helt enkelt inte klart förens till sommaren. Som det låter just nu så planerar dom att öppna tidig sommar, gissningsvis juni. Oceana har varit under konstruktion i flera år men ett sådant här stort projekt tar mycket lång tid. När det är färdigbyggt ska alla system testas, besiktas och slutligen godkännas för öppning. Den processen är lång.
Vi hade planer på att besöka men dom planerna gick upp i rök!....
