- Squid Ghee roast- a delicious treat for those who love seafood.
This spicy, hot and flavorful dish will tingle your taste buds when you enjoy it with chapati, roti or along with rice as a side dish.
Ingredients:
For Marination:
Squid-1/2 kg
Red Chilli Powder- 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Salt- 1 tsp ( as required)
Lemon Juice- 1/4 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste- 1 tsp
For Squid Masala Paste:
Coriander seeds- 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds- 1/2 tsp
Garlic- 2 tbsp
Dry Red Chillies- 8-10
Tamarind- 1 lemon sized
Jaggery- 1 tbsp
Water- 1/4 cup
Ghee-3 tbsp
Few Curry Leaves
Tried the recipe..came out tasty.. exactly the way you get in restaurants.

Thanks for sharing this amazing recipe.I added some vinegar sugar and chilli powder which made it even better. I also used Kashmir chillis which gave it a bright red colour.

Do you forget to add salt in the paste
Appreciate your presentation 👏🏻 But I made this twice and both the times the dish was bitter. Any idea why ?
Put only 1/4 spoon of fenugreek seeds...u might hv added more fenugreek seeds...so its bitter...
@@shruthishetty2420 thank you for the reply. :) I did think it was because of the fenugreek seeds, but even after I reduced the amount, it still was bitter.
did you burn the chillies while frying?

Remove squid skin properly. Even if small piece of squid left, it will make full dish bitter
The masala is bitter.. not sure why
Masala turns bitter if the spices are over- roasted. But you can adjust it by adding a tsp of sugar or jaggery. Thanks for your feedback
You need to be careful with the methi seeds. They are very sensitive. You need to roast them for very little time

Recipe looks good but turned out bitter and sweet .. something is wrong with the recipe for sure .
