The song was 80% John but also 100% Beatles --- that's the main thing. In fact, anytime I hear any of their solo works, I still think of them as Beatle tunes, since, when you come right down to it, that's exactly what Beatle tunes were --- songs by John, Paul, George and Ringo. Beatles Forever!
And it shows how it was never underrated as someone said here. It could not be because it is part of Rubber Soul. The whole album was like a single song in diferent tunes...It was a continuation. The Beatles changed the way people would see albums. It was not anymore a collection of songs. It was almost like a symphony...
This is my favorite Beatles song. I just think its so different from all their other repertoire. There's no other like it. Too bad the Beatles didn't do a live version of it back in the day. Thank you Paul!
@@380_pound_black_womans_sto3 tbh, I prefer hard days night, to revolver and sgt pepper both. The best albums, of each era, hard days night is best of early era. Rubber soul is best of middle era (middle era is really just revolver, and rubber soul, with a possibility of pepper which is in the middle of late and middle era, but leans to middle era, or maybe it’s in its own era with magical mystery tour, and revolver, with Rubber soul and help getting their own. And white album is best of late era.
A lot of people got caught up in the hype, but if u stopped & really listened, u'd hear a sound completely new, never heard before. They were ground breaking & brilliant!
This song was long forever and it had a very funky feel to it..almost a nod to James Jameson. That very funky bass part..listen to the album..they had the groove going on !!!!
I wonder what John would have said about Paul Singing the songs he wrote ? or songs even have written together, Paul now singing John's Parts ? It just changes the songs and I ( even though a former John in Beatlemania groups ) can't ever imagine John having done that to Paul......... George or Ringo. A side note - John basically gave George the lyrics in ' Something ' that George was having months worth of problems with, John told him to make up anything, even if it doesn't make any sense. John Gave George " I really like some cauliflower " Which George Immediately changed to " Attracts me like no other lover " - the Best line in the song !!!!!
Released late 1965 - Can't get over how this song is the first musical breath of the peace and love era of the late 60's, with the Beatles as the first evangelistic gurus.
I found this song off rubber soul after I'd forgotten about it and here I go again on another Beatles binge and it makes you realize over and over again that Lennon/Mcartney was and still is the best writing team EVER 😊
my #1 all time favourite song, but i have to have 'Think For Yourself' playing before it - like the album tracklist ... the one end and the other intro - for some reason - made such an indelible mark that i can't listen to them separately! it takes me to 1968 corpus christi, a saturday afternoon, when my life was changed at 6yrs old as i was starting to understand the meaning of songs!! thank you, beatles ... 🤌🥔👁️🍅🍅🏒🚨🏒🤌

The vocal harmony of the Beatles and Beach Boys and many Doo Wop magic hits is always there but why does the music industry reject it nowadays? Im an amateur musician and Ive seen, and I have played with a few of the new talents and they do still exist but the industry push them back.
This song was 80% John's and was very much ahead of its time back in 1965. That is the reason why it sounds so fresh nowadays.

Another "Beatles fan" who does not like the band. Shameful.
@@Hernal03 wooow!
The most underrated Beatles track. Or at least one of them! Too many to chose from!
It's their best
totally agree, always consider this track as the best song in the album
@@brucechen6708 Better than Norwegian Wood and In My Life?
@@yourtubesteak In my opinion, definitely
It’s definitely the brightest song on the album.
This is an album track from a 1965 album - and the crowd in a foreign country knows every word - amazing!!
Absolutely, my friend. Music is the one universal language! 💖🎶💐🎼
Rubber Soul is a beloved record for ALL Beatles fans! No doubt they knew every “WORD!”
And it shows how it was never underrated as someone said here. It could not be because it is part of Rubber Soul. The whole album was like a single song in diferent tunes...It was a continuation. The Beatles changed the way people would see albums. It was not anymore a collection of songs. It was almost like a symphony...
With the Beatles, there are no foreign countries. Also, With the Beatles is a great album, too!.
Fantastic
Lennon and McCartney are to modern pop / rock what Motzart and Chopin are to classical and Romantic piano. Two icons who will never ever be equaled.
I couldn't have said it any better.
If I was there and didn't know what song was next, those piano notes at 0:06 gave it away.
true
Right lol
Yeah i noticed that too
Tiene un ritmazo y unas letra esta cancion dignos de ser destacados.
Have you heard, the Word is Love!
the WORD described in the Beatles "The Word", is the key to the Beatles - and the answer for the entire world ...... LOVE
This is my favorite Beatles song. I just think its so different from all their other repertoire. There's no other like it. Too bad the Beatles didn't do a live version of it back in the day. Thank you Paul!
Also mine.
I guess we felt the Force in it. It was REAL LOVE
Silly and Stein actually nail the final descent harmonies better than the lads themselves.
Definetely one My favourites ever.....so ahead of it's time, it Even sounds modern now in 2023!!! Beatles& Paul forever
No John's voice magic here. RIP
I'm envious...I've seen Paul 7 times and he's never played this tune. Oh well...I guess he can't play them all! lol
It's great to hear him play tunes from one of the best pre-Sgt. Pepper-era Beatles albums. "The Word" from Rubber Soul (US version)
The Word appeared on the British version of Rubber Soul too
@@Bellocks1 I'm sure that the US version is really important to statesidees
All is right with the world but the common theme of Peppers being the high water mark is absurd and needs to stop.

Love hearing paul singing John’s part ❤

I AGREE with ANYONE who says Paul is STILL cute and amazing even in his 70s he still looks and sounds great a true legend I LOVE PAUL!!!
It's about time he covered this. John's first slogan song. And it's Rubber Soul, man. What's better than that?

This classic John and Paul masterpiece has always sent shivers up my spine. Put this tune on your stereo and "turn it up!"
The bass !!! Man McCartney still kicking butts
Was listening to Rubber Soul and I was so focused, I started hearing the bass more clearly and man what a great feeling to hear it
Abe is on fire! And I love this song better than ever
Still plays the amazing bassline perfectly
This version makes me smile. Great job Paul!
Pretty underrated, the precursor to All You Need Is Love

Paul's bass is so cool. I mean so hot.
Paul did a good job on the parts that John did on lead

John sang I Saw Her Standing There with Elton John in 1974 so I don’t think he’d care too much about Paul doing one of his songs
Lennon and mccartney

They sound damned good!
Been a Beatle fan since I was 5, I’m 62. Watch Paul bob his head at the beginning...funky
Underrated song. McCartney’s piano part (played here by Wix) and his bass (simple but riveting and amazing) really make the song.
Only underrated to the unappreciative. We know better.
