Yep, Panko is a must! Also if your batter looks to be too thin, don’t be afraid to add up to a 1/4 cup more AP flour, in small increments until the batter becomes glutenous! Hope you enjoy! Let me know how it works out for you!
Also when I dip the hotdog and cheese my dough doesn’t stick much on the cheese and hotdog 😩 It’s close to dripping dough so I have to smudge it to the hotdog/cheese. It looks really messy and the potatoes when they stick on the dough, it looks like a big monster. Urrgghh! I still couldn’t make a perfect batter yet.
@@doortooasis4557 Sounds like your batter is too wet. Third time is a charm! Add your warm water slowly just until a “dry batter” forms and remember to mix for 5 minutes “minimum” to develop the gluten. Your arm may start too hurt, but that’s when you know you’ve mixed for long enough. The gluten is what makes the batter stringy and stick to the hotdog/cheese. If your having trouble with the batter sticking you can lightly dust the hotdogs/cheese with flour before placing into the batter. Sometimes if where your from you have high humidity in the air, it can effect your batter flour/water ratios. It is very easy to add too much water to this recipe, so I suggest adding water slowly instead of all at once until your batter forms. (You might not need as much water as my recipe asks for) Resting for 30min in a warm place is also important too. Good luck! Let me know how they turn out!
I’ve tried 2 sets of dough batter, first one is all good, I noticed that it has to have less water and then yeast will rise the dough and give a little water, and when I tried the 2nd one, it hs more water and what I did I put more dough and the batter became big when I fried it with potato 😩 Do you think what I have observed is correct?
Well as you can see it worked for me haha but you can try drying the hotdogs off with paper towel first or lightly dusting them with flower. Give it another shot! They are delicious 🤤
Yeast doesn't need sugar to grow. Actually, it does; but it doesn't need you to spoon-feed it from your sugar bowl. Yeast readily makes its own food supply by transforming flour's starch into sugar.
Oh no, sorry to hear that! Maybe next time you could add some of your favourite seasonings to the batter or roll them in a flavourful crust like; spicy cheetos!
