After the Zeon's Zaku the Leo comes second. Mobile suits built for pure battle that seem more realistic in a sense are amazing. Thx the history of the Leo.
I loved GW as a kid and the Leo has been my favorite since the beginning! I thought it was dope af when Zex Marquis could have had any suit but he chose to upgrade and customize the perfect Leo!
ive compared zaku IIs to stormtroopers and tie fighters rolled into one, i take that all back, THESE babies are the tie fighters, cuz at least zakus got some good kills in a few times, these things could probably be knocked down by a gust of wind
I like to compare the Leos to the M4 Shermans. A Leo wasn't the biggest, strongest, fastest, or toughest machine at its owners' disposal, but it was able to be deployed virtually anywhere that it was needed and in sufficient numbers to establish control over the battlefield. In an age before the super-machines that were the gundams (machines that took many years for science to develop to the point where they could actually be constructed) a Leo was all that Oz and the Earth Sphere needed to dominate the planet and colonies. Leos look pathetic as they're being mowed down by the dozen during the main events of the series, but the truth is that they were uncontested for decades, and they did exactly the job that they needed to do: be there. If their owners needed an answer to a specific problem, then they had specialist machines like the Arieses, Cancers, or Tragoses to do it perfectly. If not, then a Leo could do it in a pinch. I'd argue that it wasn't the gundams that rendered the Leos obsolete, but rather the Virgos and, to a lesser extent, the Tauruses. The gundams could only be in so many places at once, but the Virgos and Tauruses were cheap machines that could operate in any environment in sufficient numbers, performing the same roles as the Leo but designed specifically to fight the enemies of their time.
Much like the Zaku the Leo was always a favorite of mine and looking at overall preformance I always felt the Leo had different sub types much like the Zaku F and J types because while I know these mobile suits were pilot dependent the abilities if the Alliance Military mobile suits seemed way below that of the OZ suits.
I alway's like and love the standard Leo
Me too!😎👍

My favorite cannon fodder suit.

The Leo the best grunt mobile suit in any Gundam series! Well besides the Union flag.
