Great video. Is there a difference between the OBDLink EX and the OBDLinkMX+ as far as programming functions. Im going to be programming a RAM truck for LED lights.
Your video is great and very informative. I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator and a 2011 Ford Taurus SEL. My interest is mostly for diagnostics, such as misfires, etc.. The Navigator is now 20 years old. With that in mind, will ForScan take care of diagnostics for both vehicles? Thanks for the feedback.
It should do really well for this actually. My parents used to have a 99 Mercury Marquis (pretty much a Lincoln town car) that had a speed sensor that was out. When they did the standard test at AutoZone it just was like... You have a speed sensor out, and no more than that, not even specific as to which one. When I plugged in forscan it was able to actually tell us which corner the speed sensor was out on. I'd say that forscan is a really good tool for diagnostics if you have FoMoCo vehicles.
Question: I have seen where in order to get the "paid" version of ForScan (not the 2 month temp license) the purchase is processed via Russian Bank. Have you had any experience with this OR has that been rectified with processing via a USA Bank. Thanks! @@NaviUpgrade
Brian I have a customer 2018 transit custom which had a new wiper motor drivers side. Of course it needs initialising ford said after hours wondering why it did not work. Can this for scan help me out with this?
i got my obd link ex yesterday 24/5/22 just plugged it in worked fine nothing to do but just let forscan do its thing there is no difference in the obd els27 and this one,i believe the els27 has been cloned, lot of money for a plasticky thing never mind its got two extra car keys copied and programmed i was just wondering if forscan stopped doing what they were doing what could you use these obds for
I've tried installing every bit of known software and drivers to get this Prolific 2303 based device to work in my 5 yr old HP Spectre 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. TotalCarDiagnostics OBDLink pages (tried all 6 "driver packets" for various OEM and China fake copies of ODBLink, as well as all troubleshooting tips/steps), FORScan, ScannerTools (auth seller on Amz), Prolific's own website, BradyID, and a myriad of others. Windows refuses to install any drivers I try to upload or link to. Nothing shows under "Ports" whatsoever, and only an unidentified device shows under the USB Controller. WIndows keeps saying I have the most updated drivers (from 2006) and there's nothing I've been able to do about it, and any attempt to change settings results in a USB error code 43.
Thanks for the great introduction video, Navi. Can I just ask; what should I set the baud rate to in the actual Forscan software? Is leaving it on 'auto' ok? Thanks again. 👍
Hi i have tried two computers and my software will not work with the obdlink ex drivers loaded its a yellow color ,obd up to date ,all I get adapter not plugged in have you any idea thanks shaun
awesome content... Question, as I've never used Forscan or OBCwiz.. I use other tools like MHD and Bimmer Geeks ProTools for my BMWs.. Is there a license requirement for Forscan or OBDwiz? I'm just replacing my Gauge Cluster on my RAM 1500 and need to update the mileage and engine hours.. thanks
Hey man I have a exscaner that I was wondering if I could get code upgrade but I need adapter to my PC to my ez scan 5000 do you know I I could go about this.
I try to update the firmware of my OBD and the updater abort the update case it says selected firmware is for another device. What can I do to update my OBDlink?
@TomySTS Yes the OBD link EX can flash and reprogram if you have the right software. But be warned you can break a module quickly cuz I no longer have an ACM because mine is now bricked I tried to flash update it and somehow or another it bricked it and I've no radio. If you are using forscan you have to contact the support team and in a certain worded way you have to ask for the special program that will allow you to do that.
0:07 that discord notif got me
Got eeeem
Thanks for this, helped me a lot with setting up my OBDlink EX

Auto works fine! Unless your adapter specifies a baud rate, it's best to leave it on Auto!

Thank you but you talk too fast, bit of trouble with the accent here in oz/
you can slow down the videos' playback speed. Often there's a transcript you can read
This adapter sucks. Don't waste your time or money. Checking out the ELMconfig FORS-CAN ELM327-based OBD2 to USB Programming cable.
How does this compare to the MX corded version?
