Vintage Visionaries Arzon from Hasbro figure repair - Toy Polloi

- Visionaires from Hasbro was a toy line that passed me by. I was recently sent this lone figure of Arzon as it looked like a fun thing to repair. Similar construction to G.I.Joe figures, but with some added complications.
I now need to find the missing parts so I can at least complete this one figure now he has been repaired. And maybe collect a few more as they have a great style to them.

I had this figure back in the day. The hologram fell off the grey chest piece. Love watching someone fixing these figures
By nature’s hand, by craft, by art, Toi Polloi restore what fell apart!
Beautiful outcome! Looks factory fresh!! Well done!
Ive fixed up a few visionaries using these repair methods. Thankyou
Glad to help
You’re an artist!
I got a few of these; Arzon, Ectar, and Leoric. The hologram gimmick was awesome, the bold primary colours really appealed to me as a kid, the accessories were really good. Added to that there was a comic range and a cartoon which was one of my favourites as a kid (and having watched it with adult eyes a few times, I'd objectively say it is probably the best 80s cartoon).
Another great video repair ! You remind me of the toy repairman from Toy Story !
I had the chanse to buy one of these figures for about £0,5 (50p ?) like one year ago. Didn't do so, cause he had his hologram missing, and thats the coolest part of these toyline. (It also started to rain cats and dogs, so you were not willing to start looking for loose "spareparts" while the water was pouring down on the whole flea market) 😁
Loved the cartoon as a kid was never lucky enough to get the figures great memory's thank you
I love the synth music you use. Reminds me of "Miami Vice".
Really happy to see you working on this guy. I loved the cartoon & the figures when I was a kid. I got a kick out of the holograms.
In the year 2050...
Toy dealer: I have this vintage figure for sale
Toy collector: But it's been restored
Toy Dealer: Yes, but by Toy Polloi
Toy Collector: Name your price
As the MacGyver of toy repair it is very fitting that you use a Swiss Army knife.
Very nice fix Dave, always enjoy these videos, have a nice weeekend my friend!
Hey Dave🙂
I will not get tired of watching you fix these sort of toys.
Happy Weekend to you and yours.
Wow! Arzon looks as good as new! Great fixes on him! You did a great job, especially enjoyed how great the paint matching turned out, and repainting his hair and eyebrows really brought the whole figure back from the dead! Really, really nice! I've never mentioned it before, but I really like the Toy Polloi action figure packaging shape that you have on all your badges, logos, etc. I really like that you use the shape in your videos also to transition scenes to show that time has passed. It's such a cool little thing that you do in your videos that's so natural that I think that it often gets unnoticed by viewers, but I have always thought that it helps to give your videos a very professional touch. Little things like that go a long way to enhance the production and the viewer enjoyment, and I thank you for that sort of extra effort. I also really appreciate that you're not running music in the background when you're narrating. This always helps with clarity. If the message isn't clear, I often wonder what the point of those sort of instructional DIY videos are? I watch several Matchbox restorer's videos and they're always talking over background music, and often it's a struggle to hear what they're saying. You use music in between your narratives instead, and that's a nice way to do things. I guess, what I'm trying to say is-- thank you for taking your audience into consideration, and doing nice, professional videos that we can all enjoy! I learn more from you than any other toy restorer online, and I'm excited whenever you post something new! Cheers!
Missed an opportunity to give him some huge junk!
Very satisfying to see the process and the final result. Another amazing job Toy Polloi!
Great work...👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great fix!
Great work!
Love this toyline glad to see toypolloi do a repair on one
Nice fix! 👍 (would be nice if you could show of how to repair broken hands/fingers on Motu figures)
I remember being fascinated by these in the late 80s. I also had Tonka Super Naturals. The holograms were hypnotic .
I had several of those...honestly had no idea they weren’t GI Joe! I didn’t watch a lot of TV and got most of my toys from yard sales.
Nice fix! So simple looking but it made a world of difference.
I found some Visionaries and Supernaturals at a car boot sale years ago.
Fabulous repair of a fun toy. Loved Visionaries as a kid. BTW, hats off to you Dave on your steady hand whilst painting, especially those eyebrows. My own attempts at painting fine detail sometimes look like they were done by a gerbil standing on a paint mixer.
Looks great! HUGE improvement and great fix with that clip tab.
Great video. Thanks.
Fantastic work once more 👏🏼 I always thought Visionaries were premium or elite toys as a kid due to not seeing them as much as others plus the animated show just wasn’t on TV however the VHS was £10 in John Menzies - child logic 🧠
I've got some of these visionaries and a big red vehicle with two seats either side seat at the front and the staffs sit in the holes in the back and got a ship with two seats
Great video, these are great figures and I have a few myself. Unfortunately they’ve become very expensive on eBay to get accessories and complete figures so I’ve had to rely on toy shows etc to pick up my couple of figures.
I had them all I used them as a evil elite brute force against the g I Joe's memories lol
We ALWAYS unclipped our Visionaries’ holograms correctly as we were good children thinking of future toy collectors!
Love it. Great video Dave.
Dave, I would love to see you make custom replacement holograms for these figures, i have been looking for nice copies of these figures but the holograms have often deteriorated over time, this is one of the shows i watched over and over again as a kid just because i found the concept and power staff chants amazing!
Funnily enough, I've corresponded with a few toy-industry people over the recent years, and kept getting told "holograms are too expensive to do." I'd really like to know what changed in the hologram industry in the last 40 years or so, because they had multiple toy lines with holograms back in the 1980s, not to mention FREE hologram stickers included with GoBots and other "cheap" lines!
Toyhax don’t do holograms but do cartoon accurate stickers: toyhax.com/365-labels-for-visionaries
Great repair video and figure
Great figure!
See this is one of the many reasons why I love this channel, I get to see all these awesome toys from my childhood that bring back so many fond memories.
But it also makes me feel old AF 😆
Great video as always!
Love the name
Although you can kinda tell where the paint isn't original on camera I bet in real life it is almost identical.
I'm not familiar with this toy line myself, but as a big G. I. Joe fan I'm quite interested now!
I think I might know an Andrea Blue lol. Seriously though Dave, another fantastic video my friend. All the best mate.
Most impessive 👍
I have a couple of those. They're really cool figures but a bit pricey on my side of the globe. 😂
@Luis Cortez Really bro! That would be cool. But I'm from the Philippines.
I like to add a small ball bearing into my Vallejo paints. You can get a large bag pretty cheap on eBay. Works just like the ball in a spray can. Makes it a lot easier to mix the paint.
Great tip! Thanks
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
🤗👍👍👍👍
I have some of those and I have the helmet for your guy where can I send them to you
Drop me a PM or message via any of my social media channels, or email in the about page. And we can sort out a trade. Cheers
Could you use a magnet and small piece of metal to attach the chest plate?
Like new 👍
Where do you get that little drill tool from? Love the channel, just subbed
Thanks. Check out the tool shop on toypolloi.com I have listed the main tools I use there. Cheers
a 3d printer might be a good investment so you can print replacement parts.
I prefer to use my skills to make replacement parts. I find it much more fun, and hopefully gives others ideas on how they can fix their toys.
First time watching a video of yours, enjoyed you putting together a figure from my youth. What is that drill tool you used called?
Thanks. It's called a pin vice. Check out the tool shop on toypolloi.com for all the tools I use. Cheers
Hi, are the o rings the same size a gi joes? Thanks. Your videos have saved many of my toys
They need to be bigger. I think I do mention this in the video. Cheers
@@toypolloi ahhh, gotcha. Thank you
yes! another "pelvis" repair
Is there a American alternative to Milliput that would be comparable to it? In stores regularly I mean? Where you don’t have to order it? Excellent show.
I use epoxy putty from harbor freight tools. I think it’s just like Milliput. It’s a tube of a putty with a different color putty in the middle. You knead it together. Great stuff
Doug Troutman picked some up brother, thanks for the tip.
What size O-ring did you use?
Can you make video on how to remove chest plate without breaking it ?
Pull the bottom edge out first. And if the plastic on the chest looks brittle. Make sure to hold the tab so it doesn't bend. Cheers
Toi-Poroi !🤣👍
Is there any way to restore the original holograms on these figures and vehicles?
There is someone who makes reproduction stickers for these, not holograms, but they look good. I wish I could remember who it was 🤔🤷
@@toypolloi cheers I'll have a look around the net thanks
What size drill bit is that?
The same size as the metal I am using. The drill bits are so small they don't have sizes I can read.
I remember the cartoon too. I was 22 at the time though. I never watched very much. But I know they were supposed to be replacements for King Arthur and his Knights of the round table. Summoned by Merlin though time and space.
...I think you're confusing it with that one King Arthur show where they were all American Football players. :P
Sorry to be _that_ guy, but I think it's 'Valle-hoe' and not "Valle-joe".
