Since I made this in 2003, the film has won a number of film festivals awards, been screened on television and various venues the world over, is frequently licensed by educators, and has received mostly favorable attention by 2.5 million people here on RUclips. I'm sorry you didn't get anything from it.

When we are approaching someone we want to let them know that we have good intetions (no weapon), that we don't have intentions to hurt them. By raising/opening your hand you signal good intentions. By not doing that, the other person is unaware of your intentions and therefore, might think that you don't have good intentions (or that you might have an actual of "mental" weapon") .
