They are nice! Now it has alot of mods, 6”rc lift kit, 13000lb winch, Webasto heater and more stuff so i guess around 8-10k dollars. 193k miles and i take care of it and change oil and i think it is reliable, havent had any major problems yet.
Late to the party but my 96 gasser had 230k miles on it when I sold it and had very few problems on original trans and engine and it had been used to tow a boat early in its life I sold it and the kid that bought it daily drives it to this day
Man in 2014 I passed up a truck just like yours different color a 6.5 diesel in a 1500 is rare, guy wanted 9500$ he also had a 95 Silverado with 105,000 miles on it I bought the gas Silverado instead he sold it for 4,500$ wish I would have bought the diesel instead

@@bryanblood7063 two people I knew had a 6.5 Detroit the first guy had it for a year before it shit the bed and the second mind you the truck was clapped, but he was putting a new engine in it within 3 months chevy has made decent trucks but only a handful of the 6.5s aren’t junk

I bought the truck I have in 2014 it's not my every day vehicle but I snow plow 18 driveways in the winter with it and drive it here and there. It's funny cause my wife thought I was making a dumb purchase but she drove it for 2 years and put 50,000 miles on it.
Beautiful truck! Are your injectors original? The reason I ask is that I have recently replaced my injectors with brand new AC Delco; my truck has the same injector sound as yours. They sound louder since I've replaced them; and I am wondering if they are louder when brand new.

Most people told me that it was bad/leaking injektors so i run som inj cleaner in it and it runs better but not perfect, did also change vacuum pump but that didnt change anything 🤷♂️ heard that the harmonicbalanser also can cause nocking noise.

I wish they had this truck with the 6.5L Detroit Diesel V8 in Forza Horizon 4 And not need to pay real money to get it honestly that's stupid to pay real money for a truck that's in a game -_-
@@1oldskoolluvr it's not expensive if you do the work. And get lucky n find the right block. The point of it all is you can blow this shit up and still have your truck back on the road for a grand and one weekend of your time.
@@yamahasm340 7-15 total? Something is seriously wrong.I had a 1992 K2500 with the 6.5L and 4:10 gears,and I actually got 18 MPG at the most when I had it,now my M1025 with 5:24 gears and the same engine only does 15 MPG.Even my M1009 with the 6.2L and 3:08 gears easily gets 20 MPG.

@@Icutmetal yes there is a 6.5L Detroit but there is also a Motors built by General Motors they were gasoline converted diesels Chevrolet was the one who put diesel engines in their trucks first and they were aspirated where is this one is turboed so this one is the Detroit I do agree with you but there's also a different design
@@Mrright-fi2fm You’re getting there...keep learning. You’re thinking of the 5.7l GM/Oldsmobile diesel. The 6.2 & 6.5 were produced by Detroit Diesel for GM, and had nothing in common with the 5.7.

the 6.5L Detriot is one the more reliable engines out there, until GM touched it. However 3 simple modifications can fix that.

Awesome sound. Only thing I have to bash is that K&N open air intake sucking hot from the engine compartment. You need a proper cold air intake.

Nice truck. I have a 96 with the 6.5. Crew cab, and single rear axle. I don’t see many like it. The dual rear axle is more common with the 4 door.

XxzippitxX have you checked glow plugs if they are ok? Mine did run fine when cold and then started nocking when it was warm.

Fix your harmonic balancer pully, bet the rubber is gone and you will get i nicer sound out of the motor and won't lose the crank

No i run some injector cleaner in it and it did get better but im guessing the injectors warn out
