The Cornish section of this road (including going beyond where this video ends) is very historically interesting because it would look very different if you drove it 40 years ago, and different again 30 years ago, and different again 20 years ago, and again 15 years ago, and again 10 years ago, and again 5 years ago, and again next year. Step by step over the last 40 years, certain sections have been dualled, bypasses have been created, and roundabouts have been removed with 2 step junctions put in to replace them. When I was a child in the 90s, much of it was single lane carriageway with lots of T-Juntions and roundabouts, and traffic tailed back for miles. I have been in Cornwall this past week and it is now mostly dual carrigeway, aside from the Carland Cross to Chiverton Cross section, but that is currently undergoing a major upgrade, with a dual carrigeway being built alongside the current route, and a massive new junction being put in at Chiverton Cross. Traffic around this area was bad due to the roadworks and I cannot imagine what it will be like in the upcoming summer holidays. Apparently it will be finished next year.
