50 years at Bern’s Steak House: Iconic restaurant's last original employee to retire

Bern’s Steak House in Tampa has been 83-year-old Bob Kovalski’s second home since he was hired in 1971 and he is the last of the original crew to retire.
The maintenance man has had his hands in every big job at the restaurant for the last 50 years. That includes building out the dining rooms, painting the golden cherubs that make up the front room’s majestic staircase, and building the famed Harry Waugh Dessert Room.
