Frontier rotary cutters fit a wide range of tractor HP ratings, on the low end these cutters are intended for tall grass and light brush. On the high end of the HP ratings the cutters can handle thicker brush and small saplings.

once u have all the underbrush cleaned up-then u will be able to just drive straight thru. that will help ur neck out 100%. i did the same thing to my 5 acres i have. kept all the bigger stuff. which was mostly ash-then the wood borers came thru and wiped out every ash tree i had here. so now my 5 acres is pretty much just mowing ground now. i have a few cherry and a maple or two now. and a creek runs thru the middle of mine. tell ur wife us guys will never get tired of watching brush hogging and grapple videos-ok.lol

Thanks +BigJim57! I agree the neck is definitely sore after a few hours of constantly turning around around to see what I am backing over. Little by little we will get everything knocked down. This year there were areas that I was able to pull straight through after knocking everything down last year which was great! It definitely is keeping me occupied and out of trouble and I enjoy going back to watch the videos of what we accomplished. Have a good day!

Thanks for watching and the comment +Re Silc! That sounds just about the opposite or our situation. Our John Deere 3038e stays parked most of the summer as we are out enjoying other outdoor activities while the weather is warm (also the bugs are bad around the property and can be annoying while trying to operate the equipment). Once the weather cools, the bugs disappear and then it is time to get the tractor and equipment out. We will use it all winter long and right through Spring until we park ours again for the Summer. Glad we could help with your withdrawal!!! Keep me posted on what you decide to get for a brush hog. Take care and have a great day!

You should always store your diesel tank full. Also I would move my lights to the inside of the rops to avoid damage around trees.

Thanks for watching and the comments @RAUL HOGLAND! We do try to alway keep our diesel tank full to avoid moisture issues. The lights on the ROPS came installed on the outside. I don't know if we can easily switch them to the inside or not but you are right they definitely can get caught on things or damaged if we ar Elijah not careful.

Thanks +mi2tn! It has been fun to get back out in the woods and get some projects done without the mosquitoes bothering us.

I see you have rear hydraulics on your tractor. I just bought a new 3025E and was told that I couldn't get rear hydraulics. How did you get yours? (My hope would be to use it for a 3-point mounted log splitter.)

Hi +Dean Levang. Thanks for watching and the comment! The rear hydraulics were installed by our John Deere dealership when we purchased our tractor and equipment and work perfectly. It seems odd that they would not be available for a 3025E. Is it possible to check with a different dealership? I will have to check with our dealership to see if they offer rear hydraulics on a 3025E. It definitely would be nice to have the availability to use a 3pt log splitter!

What’s the measured width outside rear tires of this machine? Been looking hard at this same tractor

Thanks for watching and the question +j123456! The measured width for the outside rear tires on our John Deere 3038e is just under 5' (60"). Hope you find what you are looking for and please let me know if you have any other questions.

You can get wheel spacers from deere if you want it a little wider. Not sure about the 3 series but the 4 series spacers widen the rear by 11 inches total

I got it now, was just sizing it compared to my old 933. It was 54”, this one is damn near 60 with industrial tires. I was looking for rotary mower and in case I came across a deal before I got the tractor I could get it since I knew i needed a 5ft instead of a 4ft. But it’s all over except the work, bought the tractor a week before Mother’s Day , and no the wife didnt smile when I said happy moms day
