As a Spaniard who has been to Benidorm multiple times, the city is beautiful from its beaches to stunning views to its traditionally Spanish 'old town'. It's a shame that these particular tourists have created such a negative reputation for what is really such an amazing destination.

Yes, I'm Spanish too. I used to spent my holidays there when I was a kid and it was great fun. Some years ago I was there with my kids who were 1 and 3 years old. They found a little bag with cocaine hidden in the safe in the apartment we rented. We were lucky that they didn't put it in their mouth or something. When I complained to the staff they told me that the previous customers were, of course, brits and that they had caused a lot of problems to other customers. The police tried to locate them but once they go back to UK is almost impossible to make them responsible of their actions. It's a pitty, but this kind of things make me want to go to other locations instead of Benidorm.

Benidorm hotels make their money "in season" during the summer, and then stay open during the winter at low rates and focus on older people. I can see prices from £1000 ($1200) for a couple staying in a hotel room for the WHOLE of December that includes breakfast and dinner. The hotels are mid level and look fairly nice. Same as anywhere with atmosphere there is going to be fights and because Benidorm is pretty cheap you get a lot of rough ones . Nothing different to going out in the UK . Only can’t hack it if you’re a Chelsea boy

I lived in Benidorm for a year, and I loved the Brits. Yeah, it's a bit much to get used to; They frequently talk about fighting and cocaine, but they're also friendly and inclusive. If you meet them in a bar, they're much more likely to take you in than a group of Spanish people.

We Americans have an equivalent city called Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. There are other such locations on Caribbean Islands, but it depends on where you live in the US. I’ve avoided Puerto Vallarta for the very reasons you discussed here. Of course we have the ultimate world party town called Las Vegas, with visitors from every corner of the globe, because they have nothing equivalent. It’s becoming more and more expensive and not as attractive as it once was for budget travelers.
    Thanks for the interesting video.

It is a pleasant location with lovely dining options, quality accommodations, and stunning sea views. While there is a sizable British population, they are generally well-mannered, particularly the elderly individuals who appreciate relaxing in the sun. The Spanish view it as a destination for their middle class without any negative connotations. Conversely, the Dutch believe it attracts only retirees, while Eastern Europeans visit for the beaches. The British, however, hold a variety of opinions.

Well the judgments about the place were misleading, however people make the city, not just buildings and these opinions weren't exactly misleading, were they. There for sure was a vibrant drug scene, however it seems to be a highly single white british lad dominated scenery and with that comes (as well as many implications being made throughout the video) also the sex tourism and sex industry there. So I'd say that at nighttime, it could be a pretty problematic spot for many peaceful families, eldery couples and young solo female travellers. What was interesting ofc was the urban scenery of skyscrapers. It's apparent that the tourisms brings in many resources and with that, jobs and services.
