I did not hear a word about the white underbase. The White underbase plays a HUGE part in the feel as it determines how heavy the print feels.

Hey there, thank you for enjoying our DTF 101. As this is an introductory course the focus was more on the film itself with ink management being a more advanced lesson we can cover in the future. Different films have different hand feels and this is one of the criteria by which we measure film quality. What RIP software are you running?

I'm use CADlink DTF and DTGpro sheets. My transfers come out very rubbery, when using medium white base and rasterized it still is rubbery and noticeable

Hello there! This could be related to the coatings used on your particular film, the ink in your printer or possibly your ink settings. What machine are you running direct to film on currently?

Hey I have some questions I'm hoping you can answer.
    How much is a printer?
How much does a large print cost me on average per piece?
How much plastic feel does it have compared to vynil heat transfers, screen printing and DTG
    Thank you

Hello, here is a link to our different direct to film printers: aaprintsupplyco.com/collections/dtf-printer-direct-to-film-transfer?page=2
Print cost can vary depending on size of images, resolution chosen, % of film coverage with ink, etc - that being said, the machine lays down a very small amount of ink for the film to function properly so ink wise this is very cost effective.
From a hand feel perspective I feel it really comes down to the size of the graphic and amount of coverage in the transfer. Larger, more concentrated designs will be more noticeable but still softer/lighter than vinyl for sure

I generally have no clue why pet film has anything to do with a transfer. Two things ink and powder. Film is simply a transfer mechanism, so long as it releases whats left is simply ink and glue. I have tested different inks and different glues and the most reliable is japanese inks and fine powders, sure epson prints come out nice but feel like “speed bumps”. The clear winner for us overall was mimaki where we have made our own icc profiles through cadlink. We have been using a fine powder through machine comes out great, that said i want to try kodaks tpu as the brand itself should be fantastic. But film ? Never have really seen a difference. Just me probably

Hey there, thanks for your input. We would argue film can entirely make a difference, especially given the different RELEASE LAYER coatings. All Chinese manufacturers use the same coating technique and with the majority of the films on the market coming from there you may not have noticed a difference. I would advise trying the ECOFREEN films to see firsthand: aaprintsupplyco.com/products/ecofreen-transfer-film-hot-peel-for-direct-to-film

Hello, we certainly agree the hot melt powder can play a factor but in our experience we have seen different films (with their different layer coatings) provide different results. That is to say not every film on the market will feel exactly the same
