That’s the Japanese postal mark, it’s only on aircrafts that are approved to transport mail for JP post. Not sure why they need to paint it on though. Also why the post office emoji has that mark on it 🏣
its not complete, once opened like that then there are still 2 rails either side that slide upwards making the hand rail longer. any hows, got to love those steps.

設備が貧弱な空港でも使いやすいMD-90
国産のYS-11や、B-727の尾部昇降口もタラップ内蔵型でしたね。
初めて見たけど機械って感じでカッコいいな
昔は、ボーディングブリッジ無い空港が殆どでしたから、地方空港や羽田の地方便はタラップ車か、ステアウェイでしたね。
JTA(SWAL)・JAS・ANAでは、装備されてましたね、YS-11、B727後部、B737、DC-9-30・DC-9-41・DC-9-80、MD-81・87・90-30の左前方と後部等に設置されてましたね、地上支援の胴体の所まで手すりを伸ばす手間は大変だったみたいです。
B727・DC-9・MD-81・87・90-30の後部搭乗口は羽田で昔は、よく利用しました。

それより一度内側に落とし込んで斜めらににしてから外に出すドアはDC8時代から感心してました。
最も単純で安全な構造をなぜ他は真似しないのか?
ボーイング737や747、757もそのスタイルのドアですよね。
737は上下端が折れ曲がって出入りするようになってます。
きちんと閉まってないと与圧がかけられない様になっていて安全装置として働くとのこと。
重たいハシゴを載せて飛びまわるのはエコじゃないな
これハワイアン航空の国内線(オアフ島からマウイ島へ行く路線)で見たことある
