- On our P&O Arvia Cruise we visited Lisbon in Portugal on day 12. The weather was fantastic and we got to experience the Santa Justa Elevator! Our sail away out of Lisbon under the The 25 de Abril Bridge was an incredible experience! CJ Illusions were performing close up magic in the Grand Atrium and we left absolutely gobsmacked! in the Skydome we got to watch the very talented duo, Euphoria! In the Headliners Theatre we enjoyed a performance by the Overtones.

We were on the maiden voyage of P&O's newest ship, Arvia, in December 2022 out of Ocean Terminal in Southampton! We were onboard for 14 nights. The cruise visited a number of ports in Portugal and Spain over Christmas and New Years. This is the first time we have experienced a Christmas and New Year cruise, and also, this was our first P&O cruise. Our aim is to give you a fair and balanced insight of this maiden voyage looking at the positives, as well as, the negatives that we faced during our time onboard.
We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021. We are relatively new to cruising, however we can now say we are officially hooked.
Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels. We look at the types of food that is available onboard, from main dining rooms, room service, buffets and pool side snacks. We include menus for each of cruises so that we can share the selection of drinks and meals that are available. Entertainment onboard a cruise ship is important to us and we enjoy theatre production shows, live music, quizzes and game shows. We love to explore different ports and destinations and enjoy sharing tips and tricks so that you can make the most of each port. We often explore ports independently but also book excursions that are interesting to us.
We have created a list of our cruise essentials. These are items we take with us when we travel and we hope they may be useful to you. We have also added a Wine list which contains some of the wines we have tried whilst cruising.

Totally agree a Pastel de Nata is a must in Lisbon & Madeira for that matter.
They are delicious and do not taste the same from anywhere else 😀
Great video, when we were in Lisbon we were very grateful for the bus as being older sometimes walking around places for hours gets difficult. Can not wait to get on to Arvada in June

Thanks Gents this has really helped. My wife is a chair user and it was a little concerning whether Lisbon was in walking/pushing distance. You'd get two thumbs up if it was possible.
Thank you 🙏 From the cruise port in Lisbon to the main square it is completely flat and about a 15 minute walk! As you walk up the Main Street though there is an incline, but, I think it would be manageable! 😀

In the crows next or anywhere else, do they do liqueur coffees and coffee floaters without alcohol please?
Thanks for your comment! 😀 You can definitely get them in Vista’s cafe bar on deck 6! I think they are also available in bars that have a coffee machine!
Thank you for this series. May I ask if there is a beach near the dock at Lisbon? Would you recommend the town as being accessible? (I use a mobility scooter). Thank you.
Thanks for your comment! 😀 Yes there is a very, very, small beach! It is just opposite the main square and it does get busy! The area from the port to the main square is completely flat and takes about 15 minutes to walk from the cruise terminal. The main shopping street does have an incline but I think it would be manageable! 😀 As you get further away from port other areas of Lisbon are very steep and can be narrow!
